I purchased a Colt 6920 from my local store new out of the box for $1100. Cheaper than dirt had the same rifle for $3850 not to long ago. They have lowered there prices but they are still high

YZ - thanks I did not know that about steel cased ammo. That is just for target shooting/practice. What about defensive ammo? I would assume that is ok
I tried both at the range and I am going with the 92. Both were very good but the 92 to us just seems easier to shoot. Using the human shaped target at 10 yards we both nailed it with every round. The Px4 i missed the shape ( i still hit the paper) at least 10% or more. For us the winner is the 92.
I am new to guns too. I took the NRA Basic Pistol Class in December and it was very good it answers your question listed above. Plus you get to shoot;)
