Wow. No autos, eh?
After I got over the separation anxiety of losing my beloved 9mms, I would likely be equally happy with
3" .357 Magnum (GP100 flavor please)
4" .357 Magnum (either a S&W 27/28 or a GP100)
6" .357 Magnum (GP100 again)
The .357 Magnum *was* after all my first...
No 9mm or .45?
Well for whatever reason, if I absolutely could not have a 9mm or a .45, I'd go "old school." I would sell off my 9mm and .45 handguns and replace them with more .357 Magnum handguns!
Yeah, Yeah...I know I'd be losing some "tactical follow-up round capacity." But I really...
The Glock 30 is so close in size to the 19 it is unbelieveable.
The G30 is a bit wider thru the slide and back-strap. But they are virtually the same height. The G19 has a 4" barrel while the G30 has a 3.78" barrel, IIRC.
Both are tough as a bank-vault. Both are as reliable as a stone...
As others have said, if you can do your part, caliber is not a major issue. 9mm/.357 is a "velocity killer." .45 ACP is a "momentnum killer." Either will stop an attacker they just do it in different ways. It's like saying which is deadlier: taking an icepick in the chest, or getting hit...
As if my sig line didn't give this one away already....I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Boondock Saints "
If you have not seen it, go rent it...now! Go on....I'll wait.
Seriously, it's a "cult flick" on the order of "Pulp Fiction".
Check it out!

With all due respect to everyone and no offense intended, has anyone yet given this lad any suggestions as to what gun to purchase?
Here is my $.02...take it for what you paid for it. Anything mechanical or man-made can/will eventaually break. Polymer, steel, aluminum or whatever. I hate...
From Ken Rain Rainey: "Glock - durable and accurate with simple maintenance and drop in parts. It's the K.I.S.S. principle put in a pistol."
Exactly. I could not have worded it better in any way. Just please make mine either a G30 or a G19. LOVE those handguns!
Cheers!

I don't know exactly where in SC you are, but there are SEVERAL great schools in Columbia. I currently study at the Columbia School of Karatedo in West Columbia. I've been there for around 4 years and I study Shintoyoshin Jiu-jitsu. The instructors are great and the curriculum is very...
Since someone else brought up "The Professional" as a very cool movie, I wondered had anyone else seen "Boondock Saints"? On the advice of a friend I found it and fell in love (hence my sig line).
Who else has seen it? What did you think? Favorite parts or lines?
For those who have NOT...
