Thanks for all the replies. I don't have the money now to buy a case, so...
The AE sale is at http://www.lensandlasers.com/amer-eagle-223-rem-55-gr-fmj-20rd-bx
I've dealt with them before and have been happy. I just didn't know if $.35 a round was a fair price. The last year has been...
I saw some American Eagle 55 gr FMJ boat tail .223 ammo for $6.99 for a box of 20 rounds. Is that a good price?
The way ammunition prices have bounced around the last year or so, it's hard for me to keep track.
I have a Crimson Trace on my S&W Model 60. I've never had to fire the gun in self defense, so I don't know if it would slow me down or not. I have to ask those who say that lasers aren't a help or are a hindrance: if they are, why do SWAT teams and military use them?
As for green versus red...
If you don't have a 517, 516 or EXPS model, you can use a riser like this to get the sight or scope up and over the front sight.
Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know.
Thanks, Outlaw Man. I got a case of "instant gratification-itis" and ordered a 517 on Monday. My husband likes to keep things like batteries simple.
I got the EOTech on Wednesday, and he loves it. Now I want one! That was a good deal. Maybe LensAndLasers will have that sale again.
I saw this special for EOTech sights in the Commercial Exchange: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=746452

I've never heard of the dealer, but the deal on the 517 seems good. I want to get one for my hubby's BCM M4. Does anyone know about this special?
Also, would you get a 517...
My husband and I were going through Manassas today and made a stop at Virginia ARms. I haven't been there before, but hubby has. He went off to look at some AR 15 rifles, and I was looking at pistols. I rreally fell in love with a Beretta 92!
The salesman was really nice to me, and didn't...
It hasn't been that hot here in northern VA, but it was pretty hot and humid for a while. I suppose it's what you're used to. I couldn't go to the range when we had that hot weather. Thank God for indoor ranges!
I just got myself a Smith and Wesson 586 for my house defense gun, but it's too big a gun for me to carry in my purse. I was looking at different guns for carry, and somebody said to look at the Kel-Tec guns like the ones here.
I never heard of Kel-Tec, and those guns are so small that they...
Well, I bought one! It's from the 1980's. The trigger on it is much lighter and better than on my husband's (don't tell him, though).
I had my husband check it over and it passed his test. I got it for $550. Is that a good deal or not?
This isn't my picture, but it looks just like this:
