    ruger 10/22 hang-ups

I've had terrible results with Federal in the 10/22. I had the same problem you had. So I tried Federal ammunition in my wife's 10/22 and had the same problem. I've never had trouble from any other brands though!

Just how far will you go to support your local gunshop?

I'm all for supporting the little local guy, but ... The prices have to be decent; I'm flexible. The selection has to be worth my trip. And a disgruntled hermit shouldn't have written the customer service manual. Unfortunately of the five places near me I've patronized non is great for...

So how many folks have been seriously injured or killed from......

I saw my father have a KB, of sorts. He was shooting some old, cheap .22 LR rifle someone had left at the cabin. For whatever reason the bolt and vicinity of the bolt exploded. Some pieces flew in his face and broke his sunglasses; fortunately he wasn't hurt.

    USRAC/Winchester is quitting

I saw this come up on other discussion boards today. But I am not yet convinced. The places one would expect to see such a statement - the Wall Street Journal and trade publications do not have anything. Furthermore of the many newspapers that carried this story on 18 January, they all carried...

Concern for daughter camping in the Tetons.

I once spent a summer in Wyoming. I devoted nearly all of my free time to Grand Teton National Park and Forest. Most of the time we never saw other humans. We saw a lot of wildlife, but no bears. I think being armed is the best course to follow, for the four legged kind not the two. Bear spray...

    ultimate shtf

IMHO the SHTF scenario is definitely economic chaos. This will be precipitated by the events previously mentioned vis. major terrorist attacks, pandemics, etc. I’ll be an optimist in this situation. The post WW II international economic architecture will all but guarantee a catastrophic...

    Dances with Wolves

The two primary infantry weapons during the War Between the States were the Springfield and the Enfield. The Springfield was "stainless;" I do not know the chemical composition of the finish. The Enfields shipped to the US (and CS) were blued (even though the Brits kept them "white" for their...
