So I read on another forum that aks have a free floating bolt, and that if one cycles a round through it the bolt will leave a mark on the primer. Is this that much of a problem? Is there anyway to modify an ak to make it non-free floating. I don't know much about aks so pardon the ignorance...

I never thought about the overall length being reduced even w/ the 30" vs. pump or semi. Definitely a good point tho.. What would swing faster, a glock 17 or a 28-30" sxs? I will probably get a sxs after the m1a:evil: (or rem700) thats coming up before another gun ban is passed.

Why do most all of the really expensive sxs shotguns have ~30" barrels? I'm looking for a sxs that isn't collectible/expensive tho, with about a 20" barrel, for possible hunting/hd are there any models that are good for this?

So I have a FAL (Imbel receiver+STG58), and I want to put optics on it. I will be purchasing the DSA scope mount w/ retention; Any ideas for rings/mounting? (I want to mount to the dustcover.) Any ideas for a scope? Are the Nikon 3x-9x any good or is Leupold? Is $250 or so enough...
