simple nipple fix for your revolvers!

for Cowboy shooting, I use donuts made from IV tubing as cap holders, and I've never had a cap fall off during shooting or jam the hammer..

5 Guns Every Texan (and Every Other American) Should Know

And I will add that because Texas buying the Walkers bailed Colt out of bankruptcy, Colt showed his gratitude by honoring the Texas Navy Battle of Campeche on the cylinders of the Colt Navy.

Questions about getting back into BP

Ditto on TOTW, and if you ever get down to Glendale, Cabela's usually has BP supplies in stock.

    Longmire Root

I love Longmire, read a few of the books too. Even bought me his hat. Some years ago, Willie Nelson was arrested in my small town just off I-35 for sleeping on the frontage road with a joint visible in his ashtray. Once the county sheriff found out he had been sent to the county jail (my town...

    Cartridge Conversion in a Brasser?

There appears to be a consensus :) I didn't mention that I do have several steel frame revolvers which is why I have the CCs, but just wondering if my idea had any merit - apparently not. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

    Cartridge Conversion in a Brasser?

OK, off the top I know you're not supposed to this (and I haven't). But the thought occurs ... I have a Pietta 1851 .44 cal Confederate Sheriff brass frame. My normal load is 25 gr of powder with a .454 round ball (about 140 gr lead). Since I load my own 45LC with 25 gr powder and a 200 gr...

Stupid question of the week: flying with a Great Plains rifle?

And be cautious of differing state laws. Some states treat MLs and C&Bs like modern firearms (e.g., IL)

2017 Winter - Gunslingers Magazine - author uses Trail Boss smokeless powder in C&B revolver

It's my understanding that Trail Boss is designed and intended for C&B and cartridge BP pistols.

    1858 Remington on sale.

I cut a piece of 1-inch PVC about 5 inches long to use as a handle over the loading lever. Much gentler on the hand, and gives more leverage.

    Reloading BP Cartridges

Good points.. I think I will continue to deprime with my hand tool before cleaning.

    Reloading BP Cartridges

I decided to try the Lee turret loader with 45LC dies. One more question - I used to deprime before washing and tumbling. Looks like it is the depriming die is also the resizing die. I don't think I want to try resizing before cleaning. Some videos I watched show the cleaning with primers...

    Reloading BP Cartridges

Thanks Sam1911, but I mainly need something to fully resize 45LC brass, and according to reviews, it looks like these are not suitable for that. Any other suggestions anybody? Cost not necessarily an issue yet.

    Reloading BP Cartridges

I knew the Lee hand loader only resized the neck area. I also will mention that I do deprime, wash, and tumble clean with walnut shells before any sizing or loading. It looks like I need to find something like the C press mentioned, or one the Lee presses. I do use calipers, bit will look...

    Reloading BP Cartridges

I'm new to reloading, so be gentle. Also, I know there are plenty of places I could ask reloading questions, but this has to do specifically with BP guns and cartridges. For SASS shooting I use two pistols (Colt 1860 Army and 1858 Rem using conversions cylinders), and a R92 lever action, all...
