I bought one a few years back.....just about my favorite revolver.

I own one, plus I own a similar Pietta with color case hardened frame and fluted cylinder. Both are nice....but I like the case harden with flutes version. Remington might never have made it this way....
BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE!

My Dear Cooldill -
In the last 15 years I have been diligently searching books and web, especially the big name auction houses, and the only documented factory offering of a short Remington is the Remington New Model Police .36 . The available barrel lengths were 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, and 6.5 inch, the two last being the rarest.
A cased, engraved & nickle 3.5" is shown below. note both a cartridge cylinder and a C&B cylinder:

I cut a piece of 1-inch PVC about 5 inches long to use as a handle over the loading lever. Much gentler on the hand, and gives more leverage.
