    NICS "Further Review"

Thanks for your replies, guys! So the whole thing could have just been a glitch or spelling error? My last name is not common or uncommon, but I've noticed that people tend to mishear it over the phone...

    NICS "Further Review"

I had a strange experience today, was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I went to pick up my layaway, a handgun. I was right next to the guy when he called in my 4473. I wasn't really paying attention as I've had around two dozen 4473s called in in the last three years...

    Bullseye/IPSC in Western South Dakota?

I'm interested in getting in to Bullseye and IPSC, but I can't find any info about any teams or competitions here in Rapid City. Do you know of any going on in western South Dakota?

    Too much lube?

New to casting. I'm using a Lee mold, 150 gr swc .358. I don't have a lubricator/sizer, so I'm using Johnson paste wax. I melt the wax with a hairdryer in a bowl filled with my bullets and tumble them around until they're evenly coated. In order to get the grooves filled with wax, I have to...

    Old Press - Any Info?

My local gun shop has a used old single stage press for sale for $35. It was made by a company called Herzberger or Hertberger or something similar. I can't find any info on the interwebs about the manufacturer or whether or not it is compatible with modern dies and shell holders. Do you guys...

Store-bought lead furnace or grill+dutch oven?

Thanks for the tips! Didn't consider the two-step smelting-casting process. I'll likely do both.

Store-bought lead furnace or grill+dutch oven?

I'm getting into reloading and would also like to cast my own bullets for 38/357. A purpose built electric furnace doesn't run that much, about $35 for a model that will hold 10 lbs of Pb. However, is there any reason I can't just use my propane grill and an old dutch oven?

Loading for 1894Cl and Ruger Blackhawk .357

Thanks for the replies, I'll probably start off using w231 and RNFPs. I'm trying to get my significant other more into handgun shooting. Since she's recoil sensitive, I'll probably move onto some light wadcutter loads for her.

Loading for 1894Cl and Ruger Blackhawk .357

I'm brand newbie to reloading, just ordered my kit and a manual. I have a NM Blackhawk and a 1894Cl 28" with Ballard rifling. I'd planned on shooting lead SWC bullets between 158-180 gr. My first goal is one versatile, accurate load for both guns. I know very little about powders except that...
