    S&W model 66 questions

Cool story, Brian. I'm glad you're happy with your 66. It was made around '74. I bought one a couple of months ago that was made in '75. It still has the original target stocks, too.

    S&W model 66 questions

Those letters stamped on side of your 66 may be from a law enforcement agency; at one time the Model 66 was carried as a sidearm by various law enforcement agencies and/or individual LE officers. I wouldn't mind having an ex-LE revolver. Even if they're just some guy's initials, the Model 66...

    S&W Sigma as CCW weapon.

I had an SW9VE for awhile and traded it off. I've also had two SW40VE's. The first .40 had some feeding problems but the next two were o.k. I used the 9mm as a carry gun- it fed fine, was reasonably accurate, no problems. I like the looks and grip of the Sigma and it seemed to carry well IWB...

What kind of gun was Donald Pleasance using in Halloween

Dr. Loomis carried a S&W Model 15 in Halloween and a Dan Wesson Model 15 in Halloween II. In Halloween II, the "marshall" carried a Colt Trooper Mk. III, that's where the Troooper came from.

    What is the best S&W .38 ?

That's one hell of a revolver you have there. I love adjustable-sight K-frames, especially the Model 15. But if I ever see a Model 14 like that, I'm grabbing it.

If you could get a Security Six at a good price would you?

I'd whip out my wallet so fast the ass of my jeans would be smoking. Seriously. I had a Speed Six that I traded, like a dummy, that I bitterly regret trading. It was tough like a Ruger and handy like a K-frame.

    Most overated Handgun?

Pretty much any of the "in" guns right now. Glock/Sig/HK, 1911's, Colt SAA's, the really big magnum revolvers. I think the XD's are getting there. Not saying any of them aren't good guns. I just don't get light-headed and weak in the knees when I see them in the store, and no, it's not sour...

    colts over s+W?

I'd buy that Trooper right away. The Trooper MK III I had was a class act and I really miss it. The trigger is different than a Smith and most seem to use the Smith as a yardstick in wheelguns, but I think that's a matter of taste. If you're going to shoot the hell out of it, though, you're...

Calling all S&W Experts (real or imagined..)

That's an awesome revolver! Not much to add, the others have pretty much covered it. The closest thing I've ever been able to find around here is the 99% 6.5" 24-3 I bought a few months ago. It's not nearly as nice as the real Target Model but is still a lot of fun to have and shoot...

Gun Snobs and Collectors Taken To Task, Alduro Style

Esheato, I don't think you're being an ass at all. Like Alduro said, it's cool to have $$$$ stuff, it's the snickering, etc. that makes a person an ass.

Gun Snobs and Collectors Taken To Task, Alduro Style

I hear what you're saying, I really do. I was talking about my pet peeves, which aren't an issue for most. I can agree to disagree... As far as the Sigma .380 and the Remington 710, I agree. I have a friend with a 710 that really likes it- different strokes, I guess. Randy

Gun Snobs and Collectors Taken To Task, Alduro Style

Thank you for proving my point. It's not about my "feelings." If I ask for advice, tell me what you think and be honest. If you had problems with something, tell me what they were. POS is a copout, IMO. My problem is with people hiding behind POS.

Gun Snobs and Collectors Taken To Task, Alduro Style

Alduro, thank you for this thread. There have been a lot of good posts in this thread already but I'll throw in my $0.02 anyway. One of my biggest frustrations with the gun hobby/habit I have is the whole snob thing. Here's my take. One of my other hobbies is beer/homebrewing. If I go...

    Duty Carry Revolver?

Smith and Wesson Model 619 or 620. They're based on the 686 but have shorter ejector shrouds and 7 shot cylinders. The 619 is fixed sight, the 620 is adjustable sight.
