The mkII/III came out in 1907. My own No1 MkIII* (* upgrade 1915) is mfr 1917 and is one my my more prized Enfields. Wikipedia of all places actually has a fair run down of their development and various model characteristics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee-Enfield
A Savage 99 or FAL though most 7.62x51 MBR's will do their part if you do yours. I love MBR's in general and the FAL specifically but usually hump a .30-30 or .45 lever gun due to weight and convenience. Plus not living in a combat zone I get less curious looks.
My father just picked up a pristine blue Trooper with 6" barrel. It has had 2 or 3 cylinders fired through it and there isn't even a hit of a ring on the cylinder. Unfortunately he wasn't able to get the original box and papers.
He wants to plink with it and for what he got it for I don't...
Scrat has it! Though after using the Lee bottom pour I'll NEVER NEVER NEVER go back too a ladel...
But I'm spoiled. (just ask the mIssus, she'll confirm)
Small base sizer die. You'll need it. Emperial Sizer wax. Hope the bolts and counter top that Rock Chucker is sitting on are STRONG. Expect to trim it. All of it. Probably need a primer pocket reamer, too. Though the newest LC brass I have was '90 and things do change.
If you're going...
I love shooting a little Unique and some cast 150 or 180 gr gaschecked lyman bullets out of my winchester. Might start down through the list of cast bullet manufacturers I've cobbled together:

Thanks El T, it's been just a few years (I had Fort Wayne on the brain rather than Gary, too) so I appreciate the Kellogg information!
Your point was the exact reason for my concern. But things change and I wanted to be sure it wasn't an acceptable practice I've simply been fortunate enough...
Thanks everyone. It doesn't really answer the question of whether it's legal but at least acceptable and not uncommon.
I had thought that the legislature had taken that option away from the local departments due to a few who where basically denying permits by simply not approving any of them...
A fellow employee applied for his Indiana permit several days ago and then received a letter in the mail from the Chief of Police stating:
-quote-
Your application will be held at the XXX Police Department for seven working days pending an internal records check. I will sign my approval...
To add to Ian's post the FAL requires 6 US parts if it does not have a muzzle brake or flash hider and 7 if it does.
And not all compliance parts are stamped obviously, for example most Century Hammer/Trigger/Sear are simply stamped with a C.
I wouldn't let compliance issues stop me from a...
fatelk, your experiences with the "L1A1's will take either mag" is similar to my own. The L1A1 mag well is longer and allows metrics to fall off the front ledge. I do have a few metrics that will lockup in my Inch receivers but only a few and even then tend to bounce off under recoil.

I paid $415 for a Legacy Puma 24" Octogon CCH brand new and didn't consider that an excessive markup but as others have stated I've picked up other earlier Rossi's for $250.
I've also a .357 Trapper (Rossi marked) that feeds .38's just fine. But the Missus has laid claim to that one :scrutiny:
