TC Venture Compact Vs. Savage 11 Trophy Youth

Considering getting a 243 for my 12 y/o son and I to use potentially on coyotes and deer. Looking at the TC Venture Compact and the Savage 11 Trophy Hunter youth with scope package. I have some experience with Savage, but know nothing of the TC, nor do I know anyone that owns one. Some...

    Bersa/Firestorm 22lr vs Beretta 87BB?

I'm curious if anyone here has experience with both of these pistols? I've narrowed it down to these two, both of which are very hard to find (if not impossible) locally. My question for those who have owned both, is the Beretta really worth $700+ vs $300 for the Bersa/Firestorm? I've...

    1911 help!

Used Colt (must inspect in person), SA Range Officer, STI Trojan or Spartan. Just my opinion but I would avoid Kimber and Para like the plague.

    gun you regret buying...

CZ75---2 of them. Both had terrible machining, rattle-can finish, worst trigger on any handgun I've ever owned or fired, numerous FTE's. Other than the ergos, I just don't get the following. Kahr P40. Barrel peening issues, felt like an M80 going off in your hand on every shot!

What's the deal with the Winchester White Box Bashing?

WWB is very dirty and fairly underpowered, but it is cheap ammo after all. Remington UMC IMO is the worst handgun ammo that's readily available. Their Golden Bullets (22lr) set the standard for "crap ammo" as well...

Are HK pistols worth the money?

I currently have three and bought all of them used for very fair prices. I would never buy one new... I've been shooting for over 30 years, and owned every major brand of handgun made. My HK's have proven themselves the most reliable of all...even more than that vaunted brand that claims...

    First 1911... So many choices...

After owning and working on these things for years, my opinion: Colt Springfield STI Dan Wesson In that order.

    Worried about my CZ-75b

If it bothers you, just buy a spare. I'd make sure it was fitted to the gun as many are much too large dimensionally, esp if you like the 147gr ammo. CZ's as reliable as a Glock:scrutiny:

    Are cz firearms undersprung?

IMO almost all of the CZ springs should be thrown away. The full-size 75 guns are generally oversprung in terms of the recoil spring and hammer (mainspring). The extractor springs are generally weak and are best replaced by a Wolf extra power spring. I'd also keep a spare trigger spring, as...

    CZ SA or HiPower

Has anyone mentioned that CZ's are in use by more third-world police agencies than any other pistol?:D:D

    CZ SA or HiPower

How about a fair price comparison. Comparing MSRP from Browning's website to what a CZ custom actually sells for:rolleyes: The Browning designs haven't changed for years for a reason--they work. There are far more gunsmiths willing to work on HP's than a CZ. Most smiths won't work on a CZ...

    CZ SA or HiPower

I think you did the right thing. I've owned both, and the Browning is a much more robust design. Now get rid of that mag safety, do a trigger job and you'll be even happier.

    CZ 75B or S&W 59 Series?

I've owned both and fired several thousand rounds through both. The CZ's were both 75B's in 9mm, one blued and one nickel. I loved the ergos on the CZ's, but neither was 100% reliable. Both had extraction issues and triggers in need of serious help. The Smiths were brutally reliable...

Need help with Sig P226 accuracy

Hopefully your Sig isn't a CPO gun with the short trigger. Next, I generally apply at least 60+% of the gripping force with the weak (support) hand. Practice with ear plugs AND earmuffs. This helps with flinch IMO. Read this also: http://www.craigcentral.com/fearnot.htm This guy knows a...

    Glock 26 vs. H&K P2000SK

HK any day. I've owned both, and much prefer the ergos, quality and accuracy of the HK. I've owned at least 10 HK's, and none have ever failed, ever. I've never needed any warranty service, and every time I've called HK for a part, they sell it to me. This "HK hates you" internet nonsense...
