    One Revolver

Lots of excellent choices available out there. I tend to fall into the single-action camp. That being said, I'd have to go with the 4 5/8 inch stainless steel Bisley Vaquero in .357 caliber. Why ? Versatility of the .357/.38 sp. I like the Bisley SA design. I like the pack-ability of...

    45colt birds head vaqueros

.45 Colt in 4 5/8 inch Birdshead configuration stainless steel with black micarta grips, there were 630 made and distributed by Acu-Sport I believe it was. Fairly scarce piece.

    45colt birds head vaqueros

When a gun becomes scarce or outright unavailable, do you really expect to buy one at the original list price ? That's what supply and demand fundamentals are all about...... the supply goes down while the demand goes up. The price then becomes the equalizer. Besides, the one referrenced is...

    45colt birds head vaqueros

C&S Pawn Shop in Springdale, Arkansas had one in their case a couple of weeks ago. I'm pretty sure it was a .45, but may have been the .357 version, didn't look that close. Anyway, it was stainless, micarta birdshead grips, 4 5/8 barrel. Might Google them and call if interested.

Ruger Alaskan now in 44 mag??

"The .500 Smith does nothing for me, the Rugers do for some reason." Ditto here. There is just something about the more compact size of the Alaskan, and the style of the design that makes the Smith seem a little "blah" for lack of a better word. There is really no "backstrap" to speak of...

Are Revolvers any more reliable than modern Autos?

Jumping battery on muzzle contact I would agree with. Something we once tried at the indoor range was to tie a cord above the shooters position and attach it to a Glock 19, and then fired it using just the thumb and index finger (you WON'T do it very long...:uhoh: ) which was about as "limp" as...

Are Revolvers any more reliable than modern Autos?

"Are we talking simple failure to fire, or an actual breakdown? " Either / Or can get you DEAD real quick ! Reliability means just that......YOU pull the trigger, IT fires.......first time, every time. No excuses. There are no "alibis" permitted when someone is aiming back. That said...

Ruger Alaskan now in 44 mag??

"NOW" ? These have been on the market for months. For some reason, Ruger has put the .480s and .454s on the back-burner and gone full steam ahead with .44 mag production in the Alaskans. Hasn't been unusual to see several of the .44s for sale at area gun shops and shows, but the other two are...

The perfect gun (pic and bragging!)

Which bureaucratic idiot in The People's Republic of California is it exactly that keeps volunteering to stand in front of all those guns to determine if they are "safe" or not ?

Three guns to choose from..one purchase...what to do ?!

If you can afford the ammo it will take to wear out any of the three mentioned revolvers, then you can also afford to replace the gun. :D

    Can a s&w m64 be Rechambered to 357 mag

It would probably be cheaper to just trade the model 64 for a model 65 than to pay a gunsmith to rechamber the 64. Switching to +P+ ammo will give you nearly the same results.

    .17 HMR Mouse Gun

Here's something kind of interesting, testing done with rifles of course, but look at the penetration difference based on the different types of bullets, Hornady ceramic center vs. CCI JHP in 2 pound lead balls. Surface splash vs. a gaping cavity.

    Most Accurate Production Revolver ?

I understand what you're saying, and agree that it's popularity is more along the lines of rifles than handguns. But as long as the round is available for rifles, it'll be available for the handgunners too......;) I wonder how many shots it would take Bob Munden to split a playing card at...

    Most Accurate Production Revolver ?

That's pretty much the opposite of what I keep hearing, that in fact the .17HMR has been one of the hottest new cartridges to hit the market since the .22LR and had actually gained popularity much faster than any other round in history. I don't know that it will ever be effective for anything...
