    870 Barrels and Mag Extensions

Try Brownell's or Remington. Those are the first two places that pop up in my mind.

    Ithaca 37. Yay or Nay?

Update: I did get both for $250 OTD. I haven't tried to take them apart yet, but I hear this is a pretty complicated process. I don't know if I'll jump in to that just yet, but I would like to maybe remove the barrel. Any tips on how to do this?

    Ithaca 37. Yay or Nay?

I found a couple of Ithaca 37s, both in about 60-65 percent condition for $165 and $135 respectively. The cheaper gun has a hairline crack in the wrist, but it still feels solid. I should be able to get both for $275. Should I pass on these, or is this a good deal? I know nothing about...

Price Check on Used 870 Police Magnum

I gave $200 OTD for my 870P. To the OP, 18" barreled shotguns do not fall within the purview of the NFA.

New to Me Colt Python - w/ pics

Yes, the gun is unfired. The reason the drag marks look so bad is because of the oxidation. Once the oxidation was gone, so were the marks. I looked the gun over, and it has absolutely not been shot. I think I took a couple of pics that shows the rear part of the frame. Let me see if I...

    "Best" extension for 18" 870?

I honestly think the gun is better balanced without an extension. I own Remington, Wilson, Choate, and Tacstar extensions for my Remingtons. I prefer the factory extension personally, as I think it looks the best. None of them have given me any problems though.

New to Me Colt Python - w/ pics

Thanks for all the compliments guys. The gun has actually never been fired. The best I can guess is that it just sat in its box since he got it. It is a Nickel finish on the gun. I shoot all my guns, but I don't think I'm going to shoot this one. I honestly wouldn't care if my grandfather...

New to Me Colt Python - w/ pics

I used mother's metal polish, along with flitz metal polish. I polished it all by hand, as I didn't want to take a dremel anywhere near it. It took about 7 hours to polish the whole gun to get it cleaned to a satisfactory condition. Needless to say, my fingers were very sore after that endeavor.

New to Me Colt Python - w/ pics

My Grandfather recently gave me his NIB colt python. The gun was made in 1978, and had probably sat in its box in a drawer since he got it. The oxidation on the gun was pretty bad, but I tried my best to clean it up. Here are some pics, before and after I cleaned it.

    Norinco??

I'm on my 3rd 1897 Trench gun clone. The first one's forearm fell off during shooting, and the second one's hammer kept following the bolt up after a couple hundred rounds

    Remington Sportsman 12 Auto

Thanks for all the replies. Dave, yes there are the 2 different models, the model 11 variant, and the 1100 variant. The one I was inquiring about was the 1100 variant. I am going to go back down to the shop today and see what kind of deal they can make OTD on the gun.

    CCW and Magazines

Ammunition feeding devices are generally the weakest link in any firearm, and are certainly capable of going down at the most inopportune time. It seems prudent to act accordingly and carry at least one spare magazine.

    Winchester/Norinco/TNN model 1897 97 questions

It is not normal for the gun to be doing that. If the gun is cocked, with the hammer back, you should have to push the button on the side of the receiver to open the action.

    New 870P Questions

870's are very easy to strip. It is pretty intuitive to take one down to its basic components. Here's what Remington says about the differance between the Express and the Police guns: REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, LE DIVISION Important differences between Remington 870 Police and 870 Express...

Winchester 1300 - any chronic flaws?

I have a 1200 and 1300. Both are great guns, and the old 1200 is the smoothest pump I've ever shot.
