Looked it up on the computer at work and academy does not seem to be getting any till some time in 2012. They are priced at $699 so it is not a bad deal. Don't know how much longer i will be working there but i am trying not to quit before my store gets one so i can use my discount lol.
even that is hit or miss, at my store (Academy) i made sure to make our basic stock level a minimum of 2 and even after emailing Ruger, they simply told us that they are trying to fill previous orders and most of the retail chains are last on the list.
This is like trying to find a Nintendo Wii or Sony PS3 after they were first released. If you did not get one early, you are going to have to wait or find someone on an auction website trying to sell them. i have a feeling in about a year you will be able to find them at most LGS.
I am surprised no one has mentioned the CZ 97B/BD, i have been eyeing one over a RIA Tactical. Another question that should be asked is are you talking about night stand SD or CCW SD?
That is odd because I work for academy and we sell alot of that little revolver in both 22lr and 22mag the barrel is actually 1&1/8" and has an almost non existent rifling. Its so small I can put it in my hand and turn my hand around and you would never see it.
I have not had a single problem with my P-07 9mm. Ran 300 rounds of Winchester 9mm NATO through it with a thorough cleaning after every 100 rounds and not a single hick-up. Both mags feed well and drop free with no problems. I even practice with snap caps some malfunction drills and i have not...
Oldnoob said it right, when its someone elses gun it is hard to get used to it right away unless you have owned one. I can not get used to my friends 92FS but he loves it, on the other side of the coin he has trouble with my P-07 but it is second nature for me.
I love my 9mm but would not mind using a 10mm or 40 S&W and the .45 has already proven itself as a life saver. .380 to me is a BUG only kind of deal or last ditch effort.
best bet is to call Ruger and let them have a look at it. But first try some different ammo, if it still messes up then you can at least tell Ruger it is not the ammo that is the problem.
I know this is a bit of an old thread but how are you liking the gun so far. I have an opportunity to get the gun for $690 out the door and i am thinking about selling my CZ P-07 for some extra cash to get it vs me getting an RIA Tactical and keeping my P-07.
