Anyone know if the Saigas are finally in? I see Centerfire Systems has 7.62x39 Saigas for $349 but they still say backordered (I'm guessing that means they are still waiting). Has anyone found one less expensive that this that are in stock?
Nalioth, any suggestions on other places to look...
Thanks Zebra. A S&W gunsmith is coming to my local gunshop this weekend, so I'll see what he suggests to shorten the reset.
I've only got 100 rds thru it but I'm doing a lot of dry firing and I'm seeing some improvement. Like BRE said, it just fits well in the hand.
Xfyr:
Part of the training will be in the seated position. Kneeling will work as well but you have to start the rotation standing.
I'd go anyway. Good bunch of folks and you can always enjoy the history.

Favorite Sigma Post!
This is my favorite Sigma post on THR! I hope it never dies!!
I have a question about the trigger reset length. After a couple of hundred rounds thru my SW40VE and a lot of dry fire practice, the weight of the trigger is not an issue. I still feel a bit of grit...
Would she feel better with a full sized pistol? For self/home defense the larger grip might make sense. Gander Mountain was running a special on Sigmas for $299. Like the earlier poster said, get her to a gun store or gun show and see how they feel in her hand and how she likes the trigger...
Threaded Barrel
My 870 came threaded for a choke from the factory and has a breecher style cyl. choke in it now. It patterns quite well at ~20 yds using 00 buck.
I haven't used a slugs on it yet, but I've heard that slugs are hard on screw-ons.
Can you guys recommend a sling to go with the Rem870 pictured above? I've got one with the 6+1 extension and tried a basic 1.25" web sling but it was too short (I guess Allen figured the gun to have the swivel on the original magazine location).
Thanks!
