    New 627PC Trigger Reset Problem

new vs. older S&W wheelguns Gary, Actually, a lot more can be done for older guns, as opposed the newer variety with MIM parts. My favorite is refitting the cylinder stop to ensure the gun will pass a Match Plug Rod guaging test for cylinder/forcing cone centerline alignment. Overall...

    New 627PC Trigger Reset Problem

new mainspring struts & other parts Gary, Forget Kuhnhausens book on the older S&W revolvers. We are talking the newer revolvers with frame mounted firing pins does not apply. The MIM mainspring strut is snapped into place (like a jigsaw pizzle) and then hyper extended to maintain a...

    New 627PC Trigger Reset Problem

one thing leads to another - light sprigns Bad thing to do, believe me. First, the mainspring hammer strut on the newest models hyper extended. In other words, the mainspring both supports and exerts pressure on the strut assembly to maintain mainspring tension. But this also affects other...

Fitting hand and cylinder bolt on S&W

call S&W Believe me, you should call S&W Service. The problem is that doing the work with no training or knowledge creates more trouble. Hands are not fit and the process or ratchet fitting called "equalization" is quite complex.

    Ammonia Based Bore Cleaners?

dry out bore prior to firing - oil in bore! Just make sure that you dry out the bore prior to firing. Any lubricant can leave a fairly heavy film that can and will elevate chamber pressures. I always totally dry the bore prior to firing. Break-Free or FP10 will keep the bore in good...

    Ammonia Based Bore Cleaners?

Shooters Choice Bore Solvent I avoid any problems associated with any cleaners with ammonia. I use Shooters Choice which does not contain any ammonia. It cleans thru a process called "Passivation". Essentially, penetrating oils go underneath the fouling to clean the barrel.

    Advice on pistol lubricant?

good point ambidextrous1! That is a valid point ambidextrous1. Even if you are qualifying 20 officers each session. A 16 ounce bottle would go a long way on the range maintenance table. I would venture to say that two 16 ounce bottles would last any large metropolitian police at least 6...

    FP-10 old vs. new?

I have found out how to tell old formula from new Mil-Spec FP-10. The old formula is slightly cloudy. This can absolutely be confirmed with a test tube. You can see the cloudiness under a direct light while applying FP-10. The new Mil-Spec formula is clear and slightly amber. Anyway, the...

    S&W Revo Rebound Slide Tool

Rebound Slide Tools - factory & homemade Below is a Crescent 243-3 slotted screwdriver ground to appropriate shape for the job. The other is the standard S&W factory autopistol disassembly tool given to armorers. Apparently, S&W doesn't think that special tools are better then homemade ones...

    Advice on pistol lubricant?

FP-10 vs. Molybedenum Sulfate mattk, The only problem with those products with Molybedenum (as I was told). In that Molybedenum Sulfate (phonetic spelling) can be an abrasive. On the other hand, Teflon type lubricants are only effective with appropriate additives. FP-10 works by...

    Advice on pistol lubricant?

FP-10 is FP-10 The only place you will get the older formula, is perhaps in a small shop that does not move gun cleaning equipment in inventory. Many of the larger distributors, police shops and gun stores tend to sell many bottles of the Shooters Choice FP-10 and are dealing fresh recently...

    Advice on pistol lubricant?

one last thing One last thing....... MPC manufacters and then sells the Shooters Choice FP-10 in bulk. FP-10 is then bottled in the Shooters Choice labeled bottle. Again, per contract with MPC, the formula is absolutely identical and cannot be altered by Shooters Choice via the agreement...

    Advice on pistol lubricant?

FP-10 Muscle Products = Shooters Choice The forumula is identical, no matter which bottle you purchase. Muscle Products informs a Canadian Police Training Office with this information. The formula is identical and Shooters Choice cannot change the formula per contract with Muscle Products...

    FP-10 Lubricant Elite = Kicks ***!

Alaska & Break-Free LP Just one thing, Break-Free LP is not suitable for low temperatures. FP-10 does just fine in low temperatures. :)

    FP-10 Lubricant Elite = Kicks ***!

FP10 rust prevention is great I like the way FP10 cleans and it sure does an exceptional job of rust prevention. Just the same, this stuff is the best. :)
