What is the "ONE" gun you won't let go

Ruger mkII target with custom work on it via my Father. I learned how to shoot on this gun, and the circumstances it came to me mean I won't part with it even if it becomes a paper weight.

    ka-bar tdi

I have one I bought for $15 from a friend. I strap it on when I'm not wearing work clothes (very seldom,) because it rides well on my hip and back pocket. Otherwise it rides in my center console, sheath secured so I can reach in and pull it if necessary. I want to buy a trainer for it to...

What's the most memorable THING you've ever put a bullet through.

When I was a very young man my dad bought me a new England arms single shot 20ga. He decided I was going to warm up to it on a few coke-a-cola classics to be sure. My first shot I completely missed, and still don't know how. The second I saw the can move, but Dad thought I missed it. I asked...

NutNFancy - Sig P250 - "Hall of Fame" Gun

I'm not going to jump to the defense of a man I don't even know, but I will say that i subscribe to Nutnfancy on youtube for a few simple reasons. I can see him run a gun and how he "tests" it, along with his friends. I value the time of some one who is willing to do so and record it for...

Not again.......! Feral Hog Control in East Texas

I'd exterminate them if people paid me by the head. Or at least, i'd like to think I could ... (Insert daydream movie about myself playing a role as a lone special forces guy ala Predator / Rambo and my one man war on all things piggy.) ... But since I can't do that i'll keep coming back to...

Gun shows and taking a picture?

I went to a gun show in Texas this weekend and this came up. I brought my Ipod with the intention of taking notes with possible photo reference of items that I may see that were beyond my current financial status, but were budgeted for the near future. Much to my dismay just inside the door...

    Tough little fixed blade knives?

Rofl, that was my exact reaction too. The load out goes from opening assisted folders to your typical 6"+ fixed blades. I'm sure if I showed them the M3 medic they'd probably sew in another pocket and make some room. I get by with a couple of small folders myself, but i'm anxiously awaiting...

Every day carry, what manufacturer are you choosing?

Gerber. Under the "it was good enough for my daddy, and his dad ... " and so on. I also have a small Kabar, the model of which escapes me at this moment, that rides in my console or gets strapped on in rougher neighborhoods.

    Tough little fixed blade knives?

Interesting, wish I could get my hands on one to check it out. My roommate, who is in the Air Force search and rescue, was telling me about the gear he and his comrades use. I was surprised to find that your average S&R guy has 2 guns ... and 5-7 different kinds of knives when they get in their...

    Knife through wire?

If it was your average electrical cord it was most likely #16-#18 copper stranded. (For reference, most house outlets are wired with #12 or #14, which is thicker.) I can't imagine many knives would have an issue cutting that, except maybe like a previous poster mentioned with a serrated edge...

    Tough little fixed blade knives?

Those are interesting. A rather ... odd shape, if I do say so. What was their original design function?

    Knives are serious business.

Maybe, but it did look like a kitchen knife as well. Using something not designed for stabbing to do so repetitively would have an adverse effect. It probably wasn't the type / thickness of steel to put up with that kind of abuse. But I definitely agree. Ninjaedit to respond to Manco...

    Knives are serious business.

I remember watching this a few ?months? ago. It was linked to me from my self-defense instructor, with a short quote from him along the line of "always be ready". I have to say that after watching the video, and even thinking about it now, has had a very sobering effect. I was appalled, and...

Best Non-Firearm Weapon in Your Pocket?

That's the hidden genius of it sir: just like a pair of brass knuckles, you don't need much training for it to perform its most basic functions. A straight punch or an overhand hammer will do plenty with those protrusions. AND, worst case scenario, you bend a tip and toss it out, paying a buck...

Best Non-Firearm Weapon in Your Pocket?

Ideally the only thing you'd need in "pocket" is what is between your ears. Assertive de-escalation, situational awareness etc. will save your life more often than the tool of the trade; but that's already been stated a few times. As far as tools go, I have a small (2 in. ?) gerber pocket...
