I've been thinking about it several times, but my local FFL has prices equal or close to the lowest prices I can find online, and I can see the gun before I actually buy it. So far I've always ended up buying my guns locally.

Wouldn't it be best for people to practice with their defense gun? (Or any gun, for that matter.) With a disposable gun, you'd have to throw it away after the first rounds of practice, so then it's quite useless for its purpose, I'd think. Edit: Ah, Ragnar just beat me! Nevermind this post then.

I would go for the upgraded version too. The octagon barrel looks really neat :) The only safety (on the golden boy anyway) is the hammer at half-cock, so that shouldn't make a difference for being right or left handed. I can't think of anything else that would make it inconvenient for leftys...

I would go with the little folding knife I received from the NRA recently when I became a member. It's a 2.5" blade, wouldn't look suspicious in any way (in my opinion at least), and, most importantly, it has a sharp point, unlike most Swiss Army pocket knives I've seen, which have a rather dull...

Another vote for the Ruger SP101 here. Some may say it's on the heavy side for a snub, but I think it's the perfect match between not too heavy to carry and not so light that it would make shooting it unpleasant. It's my favorite handgun, reliable strong as a bank vault :)

Same here! I love my Henry .22, and I'm looking forward to buying a rifle caliber lever action next year. A Browning like that would be awesome :D
