Red dot mount for a S&W fixed sight K frame

I guess that leaves me with getting Weaver rail stock and milling it to fit the top strap.

Red dot mount for a S&W fixed sight K frame

The best I have found so far has been: Trijicon RMR Mount Weaver Top-Mount Scope Base #401 Pride Fowler SOPS-Compact Open Mount EGW Optima/JP Mounts The Weaver has a good price and could probably be milled to fit lower and better. The Weaver offers the most options for sights too, either...

Red dot mount for a S&W fixed sight K frame

I'm looking for something that would fit in or over the groove. Drilling and tapping is expected.

Red dot mount for a S&W fixed sight K frame

Does anyone have any recommendations for a red dot mount, Weaver or Picatinny rail for a S&W K frame with fixed sights, like a Model 10 or 64? The preference is for something low and relatively clean. Most of what I have seen available is for late model adjustable sight model K frames. Stuff...

    School me on Bulls Eye

tuj, It looks like you scanned my brain. :scrutiny: I never got around to entering my notebook into a computer. I like to tell my coworkers who are firearms enthusiasts I like to play a very loud game of statistics. Having lived on a nuclear target in the past must have made me obsessed...

    School me on Bulls Eye

Camp out at http://www.bullseyeforum.net/ Most matches will be 2700 format. Usually you only see Distinguished Revolver events at Regionals and larger competitions. Revolver technique was a recent topic on the Bullseye-L list: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/bullseye-l-list Look...

Do you like or don't like grooved triggers?

MrBorland, you're most of the reason I started looking at revolvers, along with hearing that mastering double action will improve all trigger control. I like shooting snubnose revolvers Timed Fire at 25 yards after Bullseye practice as a personal challenge. I'm having a lot of fun now that...

Do you like or don't like grooved triggers?

Looking at the pistols used by my fellow Bullseye shooters it's hard to find anyone using grooved or serrated triggers. I have an Olympic air pistol that I use for competition that has a wide grooved trigger, but the grooves are very rounded and there is a central groove for weighing that helps...

Do classic S&W and Colt grips actually fit anyone?

I'm thinking I need to see what the PPC folks use for grips. They spend a lot of time with a revolver in their hand firing.

Do you like or don't like grooved triggers?

Seeing as the "Do classic S&W and Colt grips actually fit anyone?" thread I started got some good discussion between shooters and collectors, how about the group's opinions on grooved triggers? What were the manufacturers thinking? Was it fashion? For me I'll take a smooth trigger any day...

Do classic S&W and Colt grips actually fit anyone?

Too funny. I've heard the Jordan Troopers are BIG. Herrett customized some S&W M41 stocks for me at a reasonable cost and did a fine job. By the way, I'm a mechanic also.

Do classic S&W and Colt grips actually fit anyone?

Which Herretts do you like to use, and what size hand do you have? The only Herrett revolver grips I have are some used Colt target stocks that are a skosh small.

Do classic S&W and Colt grips actually fit anyone?

Perhaps we have different ideas on shooting.... I use a 1950 Colt Officer Model Special (Stovepipe) for Distinguished Revolver competition and the factory grips didn't support precision shooting. My medium size hand had the pinky wrapped around the bottom of the grip and falling asleep from the...

Do classic S&W and Colt grips actually fit anyone?

I recently picked up a S&W K frame square butt revolver with Magna grips and it reminded me of my Colt E frame revolver with the tiny walnut grips. Neither revolver is pleasant to shoot with their factory grips. Are they just for style? The Colt got some Badger target grips pronto and I...
