This might help.

Try the shims first. Place them at the place in the stock barrel channel where you removed the old pressure point. 1/2"x1/2" pieces of bicycle inner tube should work fine. Use a torque wrench to make sure you have consistent pressure on the action screws.

Put together a 16" for the SIL using a Radical Arms upper. Everything went together beautifully. Pretty accurate and he is happy. Check all the screws on the upper, including the gas block for tightness.

Midway seems to be in on the UPS/USPS deal that gets cheaper shipping, slower delivery, but adds Saturday delivery by USPS. Have to agree 100%. How can USPS get a package coast to coast in 2 days Priority Mail but takes UPS 5 days at a higher cost? Makes no sense.

High prices and lack of service are 2 of the reasons that the GM closed in my area. Parking lot was always empty except at Christmas when wives went in and paid the prices because they did not know any better.

Sounds like an excellent start to some great memories for the both of you. I started my daughter shooting a 5 with a 22 bolt action rifle. She is 27 now, loves to shoot and still remembers the times at the range with Dad. :)

I have a 700 and a 870 both of which are used yearly. Not safe queens in my collection. Both have been 100% reliable. After the first report, I tried to make them malfunction as they described but could not do it. Quit messing with the factory setting on the trigger groups people!

Had to pick my switch out more than once. My grandmother also used bolo paddles, yardsticks and wooden spoons on my brother and I.
