I just tried to download the Surefire Shot Timer app from the iTunes store. It said the app was no longer available. Grrr.

I just had to send a second set of prints for my non-resident renewal. They said the first set was not clear enough. Had both done by the local Sheriff who uses one of the scanners that prints onto a regular fingerprint card. We'll see if they like this set. App mailed 14 June. Got the letter...

I carried a full-sized 1911 for years, but downsized to a 4" CCO type to reduce the weight on my belt.

I'm going to put 150 or so rounds of JHP through my Shield this weekend. Hopefully it will like what I bought, since I bought a half-case.

Very nice. The CCO sized pistols have become my favorite for carry and I've also become a fan of thin grips. Makes the pistol feel much better in my hands.

What Al said. I try to get in some dry fire practice every week. I start slow, working up to using a timer for the last few minutes. On the ranges that don't allow holster work (most of them), I'll start from either low ready or step 3 (rotate/click) of the draw stroke, finish the presentation...

No complaints so far. As long as I did my job, it did its part. I've had a light polymer .40 before and it was just too snappy for me. Always had to regrip between shots. The 9mm Shield did not give me that problem. Of course, it won't be displacing the 1911 on my hip, but it might bump the 442...

It's my first 9mm and I think we're going to get along well. I put 150 rounds of over-priced range ammo through it and I'm impressed at how easy it shoots. Just got a 9mm Shield yesterday. It seems that it would work with some pockets, but not others. I plan to experiment, with the hope that it can replace my J-frame in most situations. It will serve well in a coat pocket as we move to cooler weather, even if it's too large for some pants pockets.

Oh, and thanks for the reminder on the Shield! I fondled, er... looked at one while I was there, but also decided I'd already dropped enough money. But since I've not been able to find one locally, I just got off the phone with Susan and one will be on its way to me shortly.
