IMHO, the CorBon DPX 9 MM +P 115 GR. [DPX09115/20] is the best that I've ever tried; at @ $1.73/round, this ain't exactly practice ammo though!

If you like S/A, then you want to consider a BHP; I'm not a big fan of most .40S&W guns when there is a 9 mm variant available, which I am a big fan of, but I like the BHP in .40

I happen to like 'em both, I say take the P228, since nice ones are getting a bit scarce; if that P228 is anywhere near as fine as the one I had, you have a real gem there! A nice G-19 is easy to find anytime.

I have a Glock (17) and two Sigs (P220, P225). I had a P228 that I sold off like a dumb@ss and wish I could now replace, but I have not been able to find another P228 that I like as much as my old one. I like Glocks and Sigs and would recommend you own one of each!

I have a Sig P220 and a P225, and I had a P228 that I dearly miss. So I'm a Sig fan from way back, but my G-17 gets more rangetime. My BHP and Springfield Loaded 9mm shoot very well with better factory 9mm ammo, such as AE or Speer Lawman, but the Glock shoots anything you load into it...

A little pricey, but the 9mm Kimber Tactical Pro ll would be my choice

Sounds to me like you need to try another 1911 that suits your purpose. I like revolvers, and I would never talk anybody out of adding one to their "menagerie", but I would never give up one of my 1911s for one.
