    10mm Auto Options

S&w 1076 Great gun. Has a supported chamber, so less chance of a kaboom than a glock. No known frame/slide-cracking issues like a 1911 type. If it's too heavy try an Alaskan Guide holster. That weight helps with recoil for followup shots.

A Proposal to Guard Our Schools

Thanks for this thoughtful reply. While all valid points, I believe all can be dealt with. First, the use of rifles for those parents(or ex military) who meet the requirements(training/proficiency/psychological) is an excellent idea. The enhanced visibility, carried openly, they would give...

I want volunteers-No pay Part of my idea is to get people who are motivated by the desire to do good. Not money. As velojym said "I'm wondering why an armed parent would be more dangerous in a school than, say, a mall. " HSO, with respect, "armed amateurs" founded this country. I did...

A Proposal to Guard Our Schools

In light of the changes in our society, armed guards in the school makes sense to me. It's the realization that gives me pause. Guards are expensive. States could opt to go with the Federal level which could mean the Department of Homeland Security. If not, then higher taxes are a...

Camping compromise gun, animal vs. people

Fl Woods Carry Where I live the most likely predator encounter would be feral dogs, the largest land animal would be black bear, and the most likely either alligator or water moccasin. All of them, as well as criminals intent on bodily harm, would be well served by my S&W 1076 loaded hot. I'm...

    10mm for Woods Protection

Intercooler Thank you for the links. They were exactly what I was looking for. Needing three rounds of 10mm to take down a blackie even with good shot placement was enlightening. As to my snake issue, we have water moccasins(cottonmouths) which are perfectly comfortable on land whose...
