Explain to me how telescoping batons are effective

In my experience, which is dated, I'm a 2 year retired and now fat and lazy ex cop......in theory an expandable baton can be devastating. The idea is to strike with the ball on the tip in soft tissue areas where nerves are found such as the common peronial nerve on the side of the thigh above...

    Bell's 275 Rigby Rifle

Don't know the dimensions of Bell's rifle but Rigby recently did a reproduction of Jim Corbett's .275 Rigby rifle. It went at auction for an astronomical sum which I can't recall. Rigby could probably whip one up for you for around $15,000. I also love the little .275 Rigby or 7x57mm. I opted...

    Selling two guns at Cabelas.

To give you an idea, here's my experience with Cabela's.......... You have an idea of what a jm stamped Marlin 1895 stainless steel is going for now days (around $700-$800). They offered me $450. It was 99% condition with the box.

    Gun freezer

Nice job. I did the same with an old refrigerator before I had a gun safe. I didn't do as nice a job finishing the interior as you did. It's gone since I got a safe. My chest type freezer died after I had a safe but I kept it and used it as my ammo storage chest now.

Rem Model Seven or Win model 70 coyote lite?

I bought a Model 70 EW last year in 30-06. After I sighted it in I shot a 3 shot group at 100 yds. It shot 3 shots into one ragged hole. I've had 2 older Remington 700s with heavy barrels that would occasionally shoot one hole groups but I've never had a lightweight barrel gun do it. Quality...

    Finished with the Mauser Custom

My friend, that is truly a BEAUTIFUL classic. I'm drooling and having visions of pack strings in the high county, alpine meadows, African bush, campfires in safari camp, all around the 1890s to 1910. Sorry it got me carried away.

    Best gun for deer

You will not get me to say there is "one best gun for deer". But I will say the search for it has been much fun and my only rational justification for spending the cash on a few of my cherished toys. My latest is a Winchester 70 Featherweight Super Grade in 7x57 caliber with a Leupold fixed 3x...

    Redfield Revolution my experience

I agree. However, I have and have had a few Nightforce scopes on precision rifles and AR type rifles. I suspect they are built to take a worse than average beating and they truly shine for long range. If it's for traditional hunting rifles, I like traditional scopes and those your talking about...

Peep (receiver) sights on Win Model 94s

I think Winchester started producing 94s with the holes for receiver sights during or after 1952. Guns produced before that will not have those holes for mounting receiver sights unless the gun came from the factory with receiver sights. Also, the angle eject guns which began production sometime...

    Glock 26 Vs. Glock 43

I've had a 26 and still have a 27. I keep the 27 only because it and a 22 was the duty weapons I carried before I retired as a LEO. I sold the 26 because I found I can conceal a model 19 just as easy as the 26 due to its width. Now the 43 is another story. I found I can pocket carry it unlike...

Impressions of new .270 Winchester M70 Super Grade

That is a nice one. I can't express how impressed with the quality of all newer model 70s and especially the new super grades. Mine is chambered in 30-06 and topped with a Leupold fixed 4 power. My wood isn't quit as highly figured as yours but I'm happy. Thanks for posting and congrats on the...
