IMO when you are that sure of a hit. Get a good blood trailing dog on a leash. Dogs can smell blood you cannot see.

I found a used Shooters Ridge rifle rest ( for bench rest shooting) for sale. What is the quality like on these? I have never used one.

I think it would be better to let her start with light loads to get used to the gun. You want to build confidence in her ability first, then let her shoot 1 or 2 rounds of buckshot to see the difference. This will help her be prepared for the recoil.

The Nova is a good choice. I bought one for my 16 yr old son 2 years ago. I use it sometimes when he is in school. I might have to get me one.
