    HI Point Polymers

I shot a bud's in 9mm and thought it was good for the price. I ultimately waited and bought a Springfield XD9 when I had more cash. No issue with Hi Point, just I decided to wait for something I felt was better.

    Your view on Hydra-Shok ammo?

I myself feel confident in Hydra-shok after doing some "tests". I feel for the price the ammo is a good buy, and provides reliable results. I tried out 9different types of hollow points, and decided from that list based on effectiveness (which is subjective). The top 4 were: 1.) Speer Gold...

I've rolled the dice - Century Arms Tanatal AK-74

I sold the Tantals for 4 years at my last job and they were outsold 19-1 by WASR's. IMHO the quality was much higher, and from shooting them seemed to be a better investment overall. I did hear a few reports of keyholing but most folks were very happy with their purchase of the Tantal.

    sprigfield XD vs XDm

I purchased the XD9 and really enjoy the feel and fit. Top notch for the price IMHO. I have held (but never fired) the XDM and it seems to be the "more polished" of the two and I would recommend checking both out before deciding. Possibly see if a range nearby will let you rent them (they are...

Even WWB 9mm ball seems to tumble in flesh

I would not necessarily want to carry ball ammo but if I needed to I would. I'm sure either has the chance to stop someone, but you never know. Best bet is to make you placement count, whether that be a JHP or FMJ.

Worst handgun you've ever shot :(

Worst was the Sigma in .40 for me. I did not like the gun one bit, and shooting it was even worse. After that it would have to be my co-workers Llama. The thing grouped 5'' at 5 yards (yes 5 yards lol), but when you buy a beat up $90 handgun you kind of get what you pay for.

Best full size .40 S&W handgun?

Beretta 96 for solid steel or if you want polymer a Glock 22.

Keep An Eye On Your Knife

We have an update everyone! I was called to the managers office and told to go to the CCTV room to meet the manager "he had something to give me". I'm thinking I did something horrible and trying to think of what. Open the door he says, "Know why you're here?" Me: "Uhhh, no. Just got here." He...

    Gerber Mini-Paraframe Busted

I cut myself on a Gerber Artifact doing something similar and I needed 6 stitches (that son of a gun is sharp as heck). Geber inspected it and replaced it for free. It came with a different style to it but I really do not care to use it anymore.

Keep An Eye On Your Knife

Well this Spyderco was not exactly expensive ($24) it was just a G10 but I really enjoyed carrying it. I use my own knife/multi tool at work simply because I hate using the razor blade type that you have to hold open. Plus a good 90% of the time it is way easier for me to carry my own pocket...

Keep An Eye On Your Knife

Well the worst possible thing happened to me today, I was parted from my favorite carry knife. I work at a sporting goods store and I was tagging bulk ammo and separating it for display. One scuzzy looking fellow was hanging around with his wife and were being the run of the mill browsers. I...

    My new Survival Gun

IMHO air rifle is not the best option for survival. The .177 is garbage it carries too much and the lead pellets are worthless (alloy and heavy weight are the only way to go). As for the .224 it is better but still not excellent. I hate the inconsistency I always get from break barrels, and the...

Pocket Knives-Who feels naked without one?

Yes, I feel "odd" without a pocket knife at hand. My parents are very anti-knife and firearms (they do not see a need) and I have largely been left to acquire advice from others on the subject. I see my EDC more as a tool because the defensive application is rather limited with a 2.5'' blade...

    Survival System

I'd say multi-tool, 3-4'' Foler, and a larger fixed blade 5''+. You can probably add in a small lightweight saw if you think you'll need one.

    Carry Knives under $40

I do enjoy Spyder co products. I purchased a G-10 Byrd Flight with half ser. a few months back for $20. I thought it was going to be 2.5'' but when it came it is well into 3.75'' (misread the site at the time). The knife is sharp, well crafted, and I like the style. This recent search is...
