When you can't buy anything cool, there is always the Remington 7615p...

Very nice. I am Jealous. There. I said it. I am currently in the market for one of these to be my workhorse range and small game rifle. It is going to eat eight times more ammo from AR mags than my AR is going to.

    Hi-cap .40 S&W choices?

    SW40VE or SW40GVE. 14+1 and 15+1 mags are available.

What's your favorite, trustworthy, low cost, handgun for SD?

Just about any S&W or ruger wheelgun. Like a 686 or GP-100. .357 mag is an amazingly fun and accurate round. Price range for used is 250-350 dollars. Low Cost Auto? S&W sigma VE. Over 3000 rds through it, hasn't had a single hiccup. Plus with the older mags i get 15+1 rds of .40 in a...

    40 and .45

Never been attacked by pins? Man down here we are infested. Not a night goes by that i don't hear those lil bastards digging in my trash. And just last week three of the hungry pins tried nipping at me when i got out of my car. I had no choice but to kick one and make a break for the front...

    40 and .45

Yes holes in a bowling pin, when you shoot one it leaves a hole in the plastic outer coating usually surrounded with heavy leading even from a fmj round. BTW no where in my post did i even vaguely hint at the .40 being a better choice for pin shooting, i just said its hard to tell the difference...

    40 and .45

LOL sorry but the bowling pin thing doesnt make sense. It is VERY hard to tell the difference between a .40 and .45 hole in a bowling pin. Also the pin does not fly or spin or knock over faster by a .45 rd as seen with a naked eye. I have shot all sorts of .45 and .40 ammo at bowling pins...

    CSI Issue Handgun

I think the revolver should do great. .38+p is good ammo, wheelguns are reliable, accurate and easy to use. The most important thing is how each of the listed arms feel in the shooters hands. The one that feels the best should be chosen.

    S&W 686

Took me a little over a year to find a 686 6" in good shape for under $450. I was looking all over online and offline. I say buy it, if it is in good shape.

What is your favorite type of handgun.

My vote has got to go to Compact high capacity autos. Smith wheelguns come up a close second.

    Trigger techniques?

I have always read and heard that you should use the tip of your finger to pull a trigger. I have always trained to put the trigger just before the first knuckle. A friend of mine shoots with the trigger between the first and second knuckle, and he is a great shot. I was practicing skills today...

The 9mm is the thinking man's caliber.

I think this all comes down to personal preference. Each bullet has a different kind of recoil to me. The 9mm has a pop, its got a decent amount of backward motion and a decent amount of muzzle flip. The .40 is alot of muzzle flip but almost no backward recoil, i'd describe it as peppy. The...

    velocity comparison

He just wants a small fast bullet to punch holes from long range. Looking like he is gonna go with the 22-250 or the .204.

What would you buy with $600.00 +/- or so......?

A S&W .357, probably a 686. If you are smart and good you might be able to get a used S&W wheelgun and a new Sigma or Ruger autoloader all for $600.

    velocity comparison

Is the .17 centerfire the same thing as a .204? That doesnt make sense to me but twice now while trying to look up the .204 i have found .17 centerfires. Plus, my pops has bought the wrong gun. He purchased a .17 not knowing there was a centerfire round. So he has a Ruger .17 HMR rimfire...
