    Beretta Model 1934 Ejected Cases

Ejected Cases Beretta Model 24 380 Thanks all for your replies. I was using American Eagle 95 grain FMJ ammo. I found some old Winchester and Federal brass fired in this gun over the years that I had saved. These cases are clean. I've owned this gun since 1967 and have always cleaned it...

    Beretta Model 1934 Ejected Cases

My 1934 Beretta 380 functions without malfunction but the ejected cases have a black smudge from the case mouth about half way back on one side. Does that indicate a problem? Otherwise, the cases look fine.

    No-shot stoppers?

"Twelve pound Napoleon ought to do the trick. Just stand there with the slow match and I suspect you'll have full cooperation." In case cooperation is not forthcoming, a double load of canister would discourage any further confrontational dialogue. A cord attached to a friction primer instead...

    Lever action cleaning

I have a Winchester Model 71 .348 which I bought in 1957. I still shoot it and it will group 1 inch at 50 yards with either handloads or factory silvertips (Lyman peep and my 71 year old eyes). I clean the bore very carefully from the muzzle using my thumb and forefinger to feed the cleaning...

    Remington Golden Saber +P???

I shoot +P factory ammo in my 5 shot all-steel S&W Model 36 Chiefs Special. I also shoot the same gun with 158 grain lead or jacketed bullets using 5 grains of Unique. I don't have any current loading manuals but my 1979 Lyman manual predating +P ammo lists 5.4 grains as maximum for the 158...

Original 1860 Colt Army - Stuck Wedge

I have acquired an 1860 Colt Army .44 manufactured in 1863 and issued to Major William M. Pratt of the 8th Connecticut. I also have his issue Army holster. I've cleaned the gun with cotton cloths and WD-40. The action is perfectly functional and the cylinder locks up tight when cocked. I...

Got to shoot my new 1851 navy today! Range report.

I have a Colt 1860 .44 Army manufactured in the 1970's of 80's. I bought some soft flexible tubes that are closed at one end. I pre-load them with 30 grains of FFFG and then close the open end by pushing in a .454 ball. The mouth of the flexible tube expands with the ball which effectively...

    1886 Browning Lever Action

I also have a Browning Model 92 lever action carbine in 44 Magnum. It shoots best with Winchester factory 240 grain jacketed bullets. If I do my part, it will group almost an inch at 50 yards. Same deal on the carbine - open sights on the 20" barrel. I've tried reduced loads (it kicks like...

    1886 Browning Lever Action

Gotta tell somebody - Just came back from the range (Huntington WV Rifle and Pistol Club) and put five 325 Grain Hornady Leverlution bullets into exactly 1 inch at 50 yards. I've had these same eyes for 71 years and the sights are traditional open iron sights. I think the Browning 1886 lever...
