My 243 likes the 100 grain Core Lokt from Remington and the 95 grain Federal Fusions. If I do my part, both will shoot MOA at 100. Both have killed deer from that gun also.

I shoot 150's out of my Savage 308 and have killed two respectable bucks with this setup. I never ventured to the 165's because my gun shot the 150's just fine.

I've never personally looked through one but all the reviews I've heard about it were very good. Check the Cabelas website, and see what the reviews on that scope say. Check some other sources too, like Optics Planet and Midway USA and see what the reviews on those sites say as well. I'm sure...

I have a Savage Model 16 in 308 with a heavy profile fluted barrel and love it. It's a little on the heavy side, but I still carry it in the deer woods.

I picked up my Savage 16 Weather Warrior in .308 from Cabelas for $579, and threw a Burris FullField II 3x9-40 on top, and haven't looked back. FWIW my gun loves Federal Fusion factory ammo, although I'm currently working up some handloads for this year's hunting season.
