Not sure I understand what you mean, hso.:confused: Kydex is more flexible than steel, aluminum, or wood, and comparable to polypropylene. Depends on how many layers I use, of course, The Guardian (4 layers, excluding the handle) is quite a bit stiffer than the CRKT (2 layers).

As anyone who trains with edged weapons knows, training blades that match your live blades can be difficult (if not impossible) to find. Here are a couple examples of what I've come up with to address that problem.

The screws are just 8-32 Phillips drive, flat head, machine screws, available at most any hardware store. Depending on what length you can find, and the thickness of your scales, you may need to grind them down to fit. The connectors I got from usaknifemaker.com...

I finally shot some pics of the Kydex scales on my 140

I bought a piece-of-junk Coleman 18" machete about five years ago. I needed to clear some brush on a building lot, I didn't have time to order something, and the Coleman was all I could find locally. The blade was decent, for something that cost $4.99, but the cheesy handle broke the day after...
