Brand new Bergara B14 Ridge in 7mm-08

I have that exact rifle and love it. It takes very little effort to work up 1/2 MOA loads. I did follow the suggested break in, and used handloads during that period, but didn't start working on favorites until I got through the break in. Hope you enjoy it.

    Nosler AB Bullets, terminal performance

I understand this goes counter to a lot of people's experience... maybe I got a bad lot.

    Nosler AB Bullets, terminal performance

White...I even found the tip in the shoulder meat of the buck it blew up on.

    Nosler AB Bullets, terminal performance

I was honestly pretty disappointed with the 140 AB in my 7mm/08. I shot 4 deer, all under 50 yards, and only had 1 that exited. I was running them about 2700 fps, and had huge entrance wounds with a lot of meat damage...had one that appeared to blow up on a buck's shoulder, but somehow enough...

    New .45 purchase help

Wow, thanks everyone, I never would have thought the results would be so overwhelming! I truly was torn between the two for their unique purposes, but this has confirmed that little push I was feeling toward the revolver. Thanks again!

    New .45 purchase help

Thanks for pointing that out, I do reload so could take full advantage of the LC. On the other hand, I'm already set up to reload the ACP, while the LC will require new dies, brass, bullets, etc.

    New .45 purchase help

Hi all- I always got a little annoyed with these 'help me decide' threads...until I found myself having a hard time making a decision. Here's the situation. I'm turning 45 in a couple of months, and I'm wanting to purchase a new .45 cal handgun for the occasion. I realize this isn't the best...

    Beretta Pico

I had a Pico and really wanted to like it, but kept having an issue with the trigger not resetting. Sent it back to Beretta twice with no improvement and they finally replaced it. Replacement Pico did the same dang thing and Beretta gave me a refund. They didn't argue one bit which made me...

    Birthday Gun

I just bought the same gun for the same reasons, only it was for my 40th birthday. Happy birthday and enjoy the new toy!

Fun to shoot AND pocket carry

Another vote for the Pico I'm going to throw in another vote for the Pico. I've put 100 rounds thru it several times, but never 200, but never thought it was painful by the end. I think it handles .380 recoil very well, especially with the extended mag. It is very thin which makes it easy to...

Two 7mm rounds for whitetails. Which would you choose?

I think it can depend on the area you hunt. If open fields where you can be patient for the right shot angle, and the deer can run 30 yards and still die in sight, then the 120 BT would probably be fine. If you hunt thick woods where you have seconds to make a shot decision, and take the...

    Disappointed with the Beretta Pico

Looks like I'm going to be in the small minority that likes their Pico. It's not a full-size range toy, it's a small pistol designed for deep CCW and/or pocket carry, and self defense at close range...at these I think it excels. It's small, light and thin, making it easy to conceal no...

    Browning Dura-Touch Finish

Hi all- I have a Browning Silver that I bought new in 2010, and it has the Dura-Touch coating in Mossy Oak Duck Blind. The shotgun has been flawless through 5 duck and turkey seasons, and I have been nothing but pleased with its performance. I have mostly liked the Dura-Touch and the way...

    Insurance purposes of firearm value?

Get a value for the gun by any of the means mentioned above. Then, as someone mentioned, be sure to specifically schedule your high-value firearms. Most homeowner policies have a sublimit for THEFT ONLY of $2500 (if they burn up, you're fine). Finally, try to make sure the firearm policy is...
