Anyone care to give me they're experience with cast lead bullets for 30-06? Max fps you've been able to load to plus where you are buying your lead. I'm putting this through a 40-xb remington with 1-10 twist. Thanks, Jim
Anyone else here think the 22mag deserves more respect? Though I wouldn't go so far as to call it a self-defence cartridge, it certainly can fill alot of shooting purposes. Jim
Between a 40sw and a 10mm I'd say if you are capable of reloading, a 10mm would be the way to go. Because of its ability to load heavier bullets and your ability to measure your powder loads down or up with bullets ranging from 155grn to 200grn. Those Hornaday XTP bullets are quite well suited...
That kead bullet is probably the cheapest in the U.S. Jacketed bullets are going to be tough to find for cheap. Midway does have a special on certain bullets from time to time. I' bought some 200grn 45 swc's from cheycast for 75 bucks a thousand just recently. Oregon trail 'lazercast' bullets...
