I've been to a few of the "Big" Reno shows which are usually held at the Hilton. I've always had a good time at the shows and there is no comparison to the local Bay Area shows. BTW - here's a Sistema for sale in NorCal - Sistema
You can add the 10-22 to your list. Not a bad rifle to begin with as .22 is fairly cheap. I would also suggest that you attend a DCM shoot at Chabot - that is if your in the SF Bay area. The club have a few M1 Garands they lend out for the shoot and it's a great introduction to hi-power...
Your sending your package through what I assume is an APO address or in case of a Marine/Sailor an FPO address - so there should be no problems with customs. Anyway, send him alot of baby wipes and home made chocolate-chip cookies are always a big hit.
I was able to play with mortars just a few times while I was a reservist with an SBU as we had a 60mm tube on a mount back aft on the MK III PBs. I remember instead of "bags of powder" small packets of what seemed to be plastique(??) the size of a stick of Trident gum for propellant.
I don't know the politics of CitiBank, but they have a service called C2It. Somewhat the same as PayPal. They charge 2% as a transaction fee a bit cheaper than PayPal CC rates. Only bad thing is your limited to $500 per transaction. Oh yeah - standard disclaimer blurb - I don't work for...
I'm guessing that the hammer spring is what's causing your problem. Agree with telewinz that you should bring the trigger group to a smith. If anything, wear eye protection. That spring is under alot of pressure and if you dislodge it, the spring and the housing may become a projectile....
Redlg155 - sorry but I don't have a "smoking gun" per se that directly acknowledges that FN cannot or will not sell direct to the civilian market. Most all of my information is third-hand. Maybe 444 can dig up some links for us? As for why can Colt and Bushmaster sell to civilians and FN...
If you want to assure yourself of true Bushmaster parts, buy direct from Bushmaster. It's more of a cr@p-shoot if you buy from the www or gunshows on who exactly the manufacturer of the parts you just bought originated from. For example, have you heard of some vendors offering FN parts? But...
Reno is much smaller and much older and not as glitzy as LV. The Reno Gun Show at the Hilton runs 3 times a year and is huge. I'd suggest, like the other posters - visit before you commit.
They don't sell to CA because of the grenade launching spigot on the end. Yugos are being sold here with the offending part taken off and a muzzle break of some sort replacing it.
I'm about half way through a 2700 round tub of SA .223, not a single problem so far. Excellent plinking ammo, fairly accurate and very reasonably priced if bought in bulk (check the sales in Sportsman's Guide). Oh yeah, it's non-corrosive also.
