I'm pretty sure that's the same stuff my XD45 is treated with. Definitely tough stuff. I jogged nearly a mile with the slide rubbing on a button on my jeans before I noticed it....left a nice copper-colored mark. When I got home it came off easily with a silicon cloth.

You can't hold other people to your standards. If it is that important to you, tell him. If he doesn't change, stop hanging around him and find a new friend that is more in-line with your lifestyle and personal set of standards.

Mine's pretty new, has stainless bushing, black hammer, yellow/green trijicons, finer frontstrap checkering and slightly undercut trigger guard. I believe these are the current production.

Even if it was a 1911 and the hammer did need to be cocked, I see that as user-error, not a design flaw.

I've had this happen quite a few times with Remington Golden Bullets out of my P22. They usually get so stuck I need a wooden dowel down the barrel to push them out.

To me it depends what kind of trigger you want. The Rami can be is SA/DA with ability to carry cocked and locked. The XD has the same trigger pull for each shot, and no manual safety. Both are great guns. I haven't shot an XD9 sub, but I do have an XD45 Service and don't have any complaints...

I have the TLR-2 and am extremely happy with it all-around. Built well, very bright and good battery life. Also excellent lifetime customer support. My only gripe is the TLR-2 is not waterproof, but the TLR-1 is.

I also have a couple of the Midway range bags. They were on sale for $30 so I got 2. I don't think you can do better for the money. Actually pretty well made.
