I guess you'd better just take down the mass shooters with your wit and charm. She's denied nearly 80% of the applicants.

DC police chief who advocated taking down mass shooters has approved few gun permits

By Cody DerespinaPublished November 24, 2015FoxNews.com

Despite her call on Sunday night for civilians to “take the gunman down” in a mass shooting scenario, Washington DC’s chief of police has approved just 48 concealed carry licenses in the past year and nearly 80 percent of all applicants have been rejected. Of 233 applications sent for review since the Metropolitan Police Department began accepting permits on Oct. 23, 2014, 185 licenses had been denied as of Nov. 14, a department spokesperson told FoxNews.com on Monday.

“If you're in a position to try and take the gunman down, to take the gunman out, it's the best option for saving lives before police can get there,” Lanier said. “And that's – you know, that's kind of counterintuitive to what cops always tell people, right? We always tell people, ‘Don't, you know, don't take action. Call 911. Don't intervene in the robbery.’ We've never told people, ‘Take action.’ It's a different – this is a different scenario.”

The anti-gun cult doesn't mind self-defense... so long as it's entirely ineffective and likely to result in serious injury to or the death of the victim(s).

In such places, the below is what should be on the doors of the police cars:

"We don't have to protect you and we won't let you protect yourself."

So, umm, the police chief who doesn't want anybody to carry a gun is telling folks to fight back? Do I understand that correctly?

I assume that she wants victims to fight back with cell phones and staplers.

Perfect example of a conflict between logic versus feelings.

Usually results in hand-fluttering, anger at anyone who brings up the subject, occasional crying, and expressions like "You just don't understand."

Occasional foot-stamping has also been observed.

It's like the person that orders the large burger, large cheese fries and a large diet coke with free refills. Then they're adamant they did all they could after they come up with diabetes and high cholesterol.

They're not that lucky.

Staplers could be considered a 'spring gun'. ;)

Where can I get a good IWB holster for my rape whistle?

That situation would be funny sort of.... If the logic (or lack thereof) werent so dangerous to the people who live there.

Has anybody read the application process in D.C? I don't think you can blame all of this on Chief Lanier. I think her hands are somewhat tied by the onerous requirements mandated by the council.
First, Each applicant must complete a 16-hour firearms course within 45 days of submitting the application.
However, to me, the most difficult requirement is presenting that you have good reasons to fear bodily injury and property damage. Saying that you live in a dangerous area is not good enough. You have to show specific threats or previous attacks to you.
I wouldn't think that very many people could do that.
I do not know if Chief Lanier has fought to relax CC requirements, but changing those rules would no doubt let her issue many more permits. However, given the political climate of D,C., I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.
I kind of took it for granted how easy it is to get a CC permit here in Florida. I didn't know it was this bad in some places.

I wonder what would happen to a person with a carry permit actually took down an active shooter? would the person be a hero or get crucified?

Chief Lanier is anti 2A - She has been very vocal about not wanting citizens to have guns.

Thank goodness, then, that she is beginning to display some symptoms of common sense.

From the original post...
