My question is, is there such a sight for an AK Russian made 47, and how difficult are they to install? Further where would one purchase such a sight?

Aperture signs need the rear sight close to your eye to work right. Unless the sight is remounted from the rear gas tube support (normal rear sight position) it just isn't going to work very good.

The Israelis and Swiss realized this when they designed the Galil and Sig 550, they put the aperture right at the rear of the receiver.

I have the TWS setup. It requires replacing the dust cover with their picatinny cover. I got the rifle that way and it not particularly the ideal setup IMO. I swapped back out to the TWS notch sight, it's just faster for me. Any optic I add in the future will be via Ultimak scout rail.

I thank all those that responded, however with my aging eyes (68 going on 69), I thought perhaps there might be a peep sight available for the AK. Incidentally I placed Tech Sights on an International 10-22, and shrunk my groups significantly.

Budget Bucks 1, How do you adjust the rear sight for elevation on the Russian made AK-47 with the Krebb's rear sight? I'm not entirely certain that my plunger type rear sight (elevation) adjustment lever will fit on it? I do like the idea though.

I don't have any mounted on an AK but they sure help on other rifles I have. I have a set of Mojo's with a small aperture on the front on a Mosin Nagant and they are great. I love AKs but the sights suck. Dare I say AR15 sights on an AK:)
