I have the twin brother to Red Cent's M10 in post #23. Love it, keeping it! Also a leo trade-in, got it from Bud's a few years ago for just under $300 IIRC.
Oh wait, I just noticed his is a .357, and mine is a lowly .38.....now I'm jealous and filled with lust and desire! A Magnum to match my 10? Yes please! WANT!
Those were discussed on another forum. I'm pretty sure those were hard chromed some time ago. That's a great finish for a working gun. And, what I would do to a blue gun I planned on using alot. I'm almost certain that's not factory nickel.
Friend of mine got the hots for a model 10 and I found one for him a few weeks ago. 10-5 and he's very happy with it. Looks new, but manufactured sometime in the seventies.
i just got my model 15. this is the best handgun i've ever shot.
i'll of course get a m10 to keep it company.
i may never buy another gun that isn't an old s&w.
i've heard of triggers breaking like glass but never experienced it before.
you will love your new gun,
Asking this question on a forum with a gazillion S&W revolver fanatics ... Of course we all fancy the Model 10. Only the best .38 special revolver ever created. And the answer to the question, "If you could own only one .38 SPL revolver?"
(uh, well ... I do love my Model 15s almost as much ...)
