I have some 700x and I am looking for suggestions for a low recoil shell.

I have a good supply of Remingtom club hulls. A few suggestions on recipes and wads. My 16 year olds is ready for the pump shotgun world and I want something light so she enjoys the experience.

We'll be shooting clays on the berm to start with and maybe a pop can as they are usually left at the range. Might as well shoot them before tossing them out.

Don't know why but I couldn't get 700 to come up last night. I got a nice load out that should be 8000PSI and 1150 fps. That should do the trick. I think my skeet club has the right wads

Just in case you don't know, unlike with metallic reloading the recipe for shotshell loads must be followed exactly. The component can not be substituted. I'm just being sure you know for safety, not talking down to any one.

If you subscribe to Wolfe Publication's "Handloader" magazine, there's a good article on light 12ga loads in the current issue that just came out!

For most purposes, 3/4 oz loads will be the lightest. Extra-lite is a good powder for those, as are some others. Most of the publications and powder manufacturers will have recipes for 3/4, 7/8, 1 oz loads, all of which can be light.

Just follow the recipe and enjoy!

I loaded a couple of boxes of 20 ga. for my 9 yo granddaughter to shoot with her Mossberg pump. I used a 3/4 oz. load with a suitable powder I had on hand. I had to buy some wads for it though.

She had no problem with it and she is skinny.

76 loads with Remington STS, Nitro 27 or Gun Club Hulls, 3/4 oz or 24 grams lead shot, 700X powder.

I've used Red Dot, Clays, Titewad and Titegroup for 3/4 oz loads in my 1100 and they work great at skeet and 16 yard trap. 6 rounds (150 shots) and no sore shoulder. Recoil with the 1100 is somewhere between an AK and an AR. My most common load is with Red Dot simply because it's what I have the most of.
