Can't hate Glock much now

I've got a good friend that seems to get great deals on guns all the time. I asked him once how he managed to find so many great deals, he just looked at me and said "I got broke friends"

I think the same applies to you sir.

Very nice catch, if I only had that kind of luck......I'd have a Glock for sale.

I just bought one 3 months ago. I paid $350 at the LGS used but like new in the box. I researched and read about quite a few problems in 2014. It seems that Glock changed the mags 3 times, and the slide stop 2 times. My slide stop has -2 on it, and the magazines have 02 under the 5 digit part number on the back.Newer mags are now marked 03. This one was born around May 2015 and works well with factory ammo. I wanted something smaller in the grip and flatter than a sub compact 9mm, yet larger than a typical .380 pocket pistol. If concealed carry is indicated, you made a good choice. I'm pleased with the G42, given the large uptick in street crime in our area.

Where are people that want to sell almost new guns at a ridiculously low price when I am buying?

I have pretty much zero interest in a G42, but for $150, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I still hate them! But for that price I probably would have gone for it too.

I posted the little G42 on a few buy and trade sites to test the waters. One fellow offered me $300 for the little gun. I am trying to upsell him into buying all my 380 ammo for 50 more. Should be getting back to me this week, probably after getting spouse permission.

I think you should try it out before you sell it, you just might like it.

My wife shoots a 42 and loves it.

Only issue we had was with ammo, it only likes full power / max load ammo, anything less and it won't cycle 100%. Which is odd because my G43 will cycle anything, I've even tried 100gr bullets at starting loads (basically turns my 9mm into a .380 LOL) and it works fine...

I put a magazine through it. Mostly for trigger feel, recoil, and overall mechanics rather than round placement. It was just as I remember shooting Glocks while I was a handgun defensive trainer. Nothing to write home about and it works. Middle of the road accuracy at minute of tree trunk. Trigger was squishy and recoil was soft for a 380 in polymer. I liked it but I know the money I get from a sale would go toward something I actually want.

Ive never been an overwhelming fan of 380. This G42 is the only 380 firearm I have in the house. And the wife doesn't want to go back to her Bersa. So this sale is partly to cull the caliber herd as it were.

I once traded a sigma 380 for a Colt Diamondback, the guy had inherited from his dad and thought an auto was better. Not my responsibility to educate people on firearm values. Best deal I have ever made on a gun trade.

The Glock 42 is no more a pocket gun than the Ruger lc9-s is. Sure, you could so it but they're too big. I just bought a S&W M&P Bodyguard .380. That and the Ruger LCP are true pocket .380's. Not the most fun gun to shoot, but for its purpose it is perfect. I would have flipped that gun in a second. For something that size, there are more powerful weapons out there. Cheaper to feed, too.

I too wasn't necessarily for Glock. However, after several let downs in the past several months. I came back to Glock and now I'm staying. I can't ignore them anymore. SIG, 1911, even HKs, require a little more attention than Glock. I carry a Glock 19 now and I haven't looked back. They're so low maintenance and they always go *bang*. When I separated emotion for practicality in terms of self defense, Glock was the and is the best choice for me.

Oh, and to those concerned with the price. It happens all the time. I've seen people sell Glocks for $200, SIG Sauer Elites for $300, and so on. Some people just want to get rid of guns for reasons that beyond my comprehension. I've heard / seen things such as "my wife hates guns now" or "I'm moving in with (or someone's moving in) XYZ, so I cannot keep it" etc. It happens. No biggie. I bought a SIG Elite Dark for $350.

The G42 fit in my pocket just fine. I downright loathed the Bodyguard when my wife owned it. Trigger pull was over 15 pounds and S&W said there was nothing wrong with it. I was looking at the LCP Custom over the LCP for the better trigger. Dropped that idea since the LCPs do not lockback on empty magazines.

In any case. A college professor bought my G42 for his wife for the $300. Double profit and money toward what I actually want. And he didn't want the pocket holster.

At that price...even I would buy a Glock. May not shoot it since it's such a large gun for a 380, but I think it'd make a nice OWB kayak pistol.

Some people just can't get around the fact that John Q Public doesn't care what that bulge is in their pocket, cause John Q Public isn't looking at your pockets.

Mine fits in my pockets fine, everyday as a matter of fact.

I had to CHOKE down some crow also, after I shot my Buddies 43. Hell can now freeze over, and Pigs can start flying. I bought a Glock and like it......Ohhhhhhhhhhh, Gawd how that hurts to say.
