i stopped at walmart to print a few pictures, but the photo machines were busy. so i went to the sporting section and found one carton of 200 rounds(four boxs) of cci max-mag JHP for 38.47+tax. they had 10 single boxs(50 rounds) for 14.00+tax, i wish they had more of the 200 round carton as i would have bought three. its the first .22 mags i havw seen in a long while. eastbank.

Dang, nice score! With a CMR 30 on layaway, I need all the .22wmr I can find. The only thing I have really found.recently were two boxes at a Walmart. $26 or so for 100 rnds.

I looked around my town. No 22WMR to be found. Maybe it is still in shipping?

Heading into WTE (white trash expo) to check and see if my local venue has .22 mag.

.22 mag is great for close varmints.
Neat rifles can be had in it too.

9mm...........eh

Wow guess it's been awhile since I last priced .22WMR ammo! Only have a Single Six convertible to use it in and then not all that frequently anyways. Think I have about 400 rounds of it and the rate I shoot it that should last me for quite some time.

colorado, i tried getting 9mm to fit into my .22 mag rifles, but have not had any luck with that. if you would let me know how to get 9mm to fit into my .22 mag rifles, i,m all ears. eastbank.

That's a great price. The cheapest online right now is $.26 per round. I am sure I could find it a bit cheaper if I did a thorough search but I don't need it bad enough to pay more than you did.

The 22 mag is an awesome cartridge but I have cut way down on my shooting in the past two years. 9mm is $.17 per round and 22 mag is $.25?

The .22 WMR is an awesome cartridge, way underrated by most people. My CZ 452 Lux is high on my list of favorite guns among the ones I own, have owned, or have fired (that's a lot of guns). It is an MOA shooter out beyond 100 yards with Hornady 30 grain V-Max, but only a 2 MOA shooter with other ammo such as CCI or Winchester 40 grain varieties. (From what I've seen and read, the much better performance with V-Max is not uncommon.)

Re: ammo costs, I typically get much more enjoyment out of 50 rounds of .22 WMR from my bolt gun than I do from 50 rounds of 9mm from a semi-auto. Therefore, even at a higher per/round cost, the WMR is a relative value. I have the choice of multiple .223 or .9mm guns that I could shoot for about the same or even lower cost per round, but the .22 WMR is more likely to get the call. YMMV.

I have not seen any ammo for sale at Walmart in a long time, as I no longer shop there. People say how can you not shop at Walmart? Honestly I havent missed it a bit, and I actually save money. I find it much more cost effective to use promotional sale flyers, coupons, points, etc. that walmart never offers. Why would I price match when I can just buy it at the other store in one trip? And I get the satisfaction that:
I am doing a better job of supporting US manufacturing... Supporting American values, such as a diverse and competitive marketplace and diverse industry as a whole.

I sold my 22 WMR rifles because I could not find ammo for the longest time. I traded it for a 40 cal hi point carbine, that I can shoot for 15 cents/round with reloads. :neener:

for what i use my .22 mag rifles for i do not need massive amounts of .22 mag ammo, squirrel and rabbit hunting with a little varmite shooting. the 200 rounds of ammo i bought will last at least two-three years and maybe more. i also use my .22 LR rifles for the same thing, but the .22 mag gives me a little more range to make clean kills. eastbank

I use 22 mag for squirrel that are hunkered down high in the trees. I own one bolt action rifle that I use for this purpose but it's too much gun for most of my squirrel hunting. Doesn't mean it's not adequate, but I can get the same results at 25 yards with 22 LR with less chance of destroying the squirrel. My aim ain't what it was and hitting a flattened out squirrel in the head is not a sure bet.
The PMR and CMR 30 are the guns that make me blow through 22 mag ammo.

.22 WMR is still very scarce. I found some Speer Gold Dot last year for about $15 a box. Now it's more like $18 if you can find it.

I recently found some of the excellent 50gr Federal GameShock on an auction site for $20 a box and got 10 boxes. Don't overlook the auction sites if you can't find what you need at a retailer.
