Handgun in image?

The Philips head screw holding the grip on suggests a dummy gun of some kind to me, or is that some new high-tech screw I don't recognize?

As for what it is if it's not a dummy, I don't know. The grip checkering pattern isn't right for any DA pistol I can think of. The pin at the bottom rear of the trigger guard does suggest a PP type pistol, but the grips are wrong. Maybe one of those Romanian PP clones from some years ago?

It does have some PPK features, but the extractor is too long for a PPK and the hammer isn't a PPK hammer. Also, there's a pin in the slide where there's no pin in a PPK slide.

The grip screw is in a somewhat unusual position. Most pistols have a cutout in the grip frame in that area which is why it's common to see screws at the top or bottom of the grips, or at the back of the grips instead of in the middle like the gun in the pic. The grip screw is positioned about right for a P230 or P232, but there are ways to tell that it's not a P230 or P232.

I don't know what it is.

Not a Bersa 380.

The grip screw is in the wrong place. The Bersa doesn't have a pin or anything else on the lower trigger guard. And you'd be able to see the back of the mag catch/release button on the upper part of the trigger guard.

Non-gun, such as a replica or blank-firing piece. That rear sight, what I can see of it, looks like something from an even smaller gun.

My guess is that's it's a movie gun based on the Bersa or PPK. Could also very easily be a BB gun made in China.

The slide cuts are wrong for a P230 or P232. Also, both of those pistols have a pin behind the extractor not shown on the gun in the picture.

Not a Remington--the Remington pistols have internal extractors.

The pin looks like it's for a swingdown triggerguard takedown but I can't match up the other features to any gun I know of that has a swingdown triggerguard takedown.

I believe you're probably on the right track. I haven't found a perfect match yet, but I've found a few that are a closer match than any firearm I could find pics for.

EKOL and Voltran make some pistols with remarkable similarities to the gun in the picture. Here's an example.

Maybe. Google image search suggests that it's a widely used stock image.

That might suggest it's some sort of non-firearm.

I'd check the filenames, but I'm on my phone.

Tell us where you got the picture in the OP. That can only help.
I can't find the article anymore but I believe it was in regards to the recent Appeals court ruling that there is no constitutional right to carry concealed guns. As was mentioned, it is probably a stock image.
