This is not a classified ad. So please don't treat it as such. However ... I've got a couple of WW1 collectibles. I really need to add a correct M97 trench gun to the list. I've googled my brains out. I've been watching gunbroker for months. Can one of your shotgun collectors point me towards a place to start searching and looking? I passed up on a very nice and correct M97 10 years ago for $500. Boy those were the days. I fully understand what a nice one will cost me. I just need ideas on where to start searching. Thanks for any advice.

You might want to start checking out milsurps.com They have a pretty extensive want ads section and I regularly see folks posting "want to buy" ads for everything from soup to nuts there....

Matter of fact - they even have a military shotguns section... Here's a link to the first thread on that board - looks pretty close to what you're interested in...

There is a store in Ladonnia, MO, that had one, complete with canvas saddle scabbard a few years ago. Don't remember the name but it is on the main drag and is in a barn and has realty, guns, and hardware.
