Gunsmith for Cutting and Recrowning Model 65

I have a S&W model 65 4inch fixed sights in nice shape. I would like to find someone to cut it down to 3inches, recrown it and cut the spurr off the hammer to make it double action only.

Is there anyone accepting work and taking on this sort of job nowadays?

You will need more than that to make it DAO. Clipping the spur will only make it difficult to cock for SA.

Single action cocking notch needs to be removed to make it DAO (just like LAPD used to do in the '60s). You can send it to Throne in Trinidad. He's my classmate and has the equipment. Check your PM.

Thank you all for helping I have contacted the smith recommended in this thread and a few others, keep them coming. Also I am aware it will take more to make it a DAO pistol.

If you chop the barrel you are going to need a new front sight installed too.

Might be cheaper to source a complete 3" barrel w/front sight and have that swapped.
