I was looking at these IWB holsters for two reasons,

They are hybrid with either leather or neoprene on the back side and the gun shells are interchangeable (inexpensive also)

I am not experienced with IWB holsters as they are uncomfortable to wear down here with shorts and t shirts So I wanted to try one of these as they have a good return policy and the shells can be exchanged.

The appear well made and I can try several guns that I never get to carry. I do prefer leather but can not afford to buy several holsters that will not get used.

I have a couple. There was a buy one get one real cheap sale a while back. I'm not impressed at all with them. The fasteners constantly came loose until I put Loc-Tite on all of them. The guns are very poorly secured and the kydex is pretty light. I should have sent them back but I didn't get around to it, they just live in the safe.
If you want this type of IWB holster get a Crossbreed with the horse hide option, no break in, very comfortable. They cost at least twice as much and are worth every penny. Due to the abuse, I broke the kydex on two of them. Sent them in for repair they sent a new holster back free of charge each time.

They are all I use now. I greatly prefer them to leather. They are comfortable day one and durable. I have not had any retention issues, and it comes with shorter bushings that make retention too tight.

The screws holding the belt clips do walk out, but no worse than my Comp-Tac does. The customer service is excellent, which is good because I have broken the kydex liner in the backing on one of them. They sent another backing no questions asked, no returning the old junk. It was back online 3 days later.

I would give them a serious consideration if they offered a Kydex shell that fit my Viridian light. I might try their magazine carrier but I don't see myself getting a holster from them.

I like mine. 5 inch 1911 under a loose T-shirt. I also recommend loc-tite on the screws, but they don't back out any worse than any other piece of gear with screws that are subject to the movement a holster is.

It's my main carry holster. On the plus side, it's by far the most comfortable holster I own, and I have a box of them. My Crossbreeds are great as well, but the difference is that my Crossbreeds have a smooth leather backing which tends to slide down unless I tighten my belt to the point that it's uncomfortable. The backing on the Aliengear grips better, and tends not to slide down as much.

I have used one for about a year and a half now for my 9mm Shield. I really like it and find it very comfortable for IWB carry. I had never carried IWB before buying this holster.

My main holsters are from Milt Sparks to give a point of reference. One is for a S&W Sigma, the other a Fusion 5" 1911. I wanted to get a holster for my M&P 9mm. My son in law has an Alien Gear for his Shield, carries pretty much all day at work, loves it! I read quite a few happy reviews for Alien Gear, decided to give it a try, (for the money, why not?). So far, so good, it's quite comfortable and living here in Florida, sweat is a real issue. I've sweated through my leather holsters at IDPA events, all day tactical skills days, classes, etc. I like the adjustability and once I'm certain I've got all the pieces where I want them, I'll Loctite the fasteners. I also had some concerns and questions, was able to 'chat' with a rep on a Saturday, (New Years Eve no less), send a pic, get the issue resolved, great CS! Give them a shot!

I have one for my M&P .45c, overall I like it.
It offers reasonable comfort while wearing. The price was good and from what I've heard the company's CS is great.
I ordered the leather belt loops when I bought it. Wasn't sure I liked/trusted the clips that come standard, after several months of owning it, the belt loops sit unused in the package they came in.
A little blue loctite will stop the bolts on it from coming loose.
I went back and forth between this one and a Crossbreed before going with the Alien Gear. I prefer leather for knife sheaths, holsters etc. I choose this one based on reviews and cost. So far it's been a good holster.

I have an Aliengear 3.0. It's functional but not my favorite. I prefer how a good leather molds to your body shape.

I bought the OUTSIDE the waist band holster last week. Not exactly what you were asking about, but ....

First of all, their gun belt is great. I had always heard what a difference the belt makes, but didn't really buy into it until I put this belt on the first time. In fact, I used the Alien Gear belt with my Blackhawk Serpa holster for the first few days and it made a huge positive difference. FWIW, I liked the Blackhawk Serpa and carried it for about 2 years daily (maybe that taints my opinion is some eyes!). Anyway, the Cloak Mod holster is OK, not bad, not life changing, just OK and I have been wearing it for just about 5 days now. I bought it because I really wanted the Docking System that you can buy for $10 that you easily mount in your car or whatever. Works great.

After practicing my draw with this holster I developed a 'hot spot' on my middle finger where it contacts the holster when I grab the gun. Never had this with other holsters. Maybe it work itself out. So the holster itself is OK, but the other stuff is really good.

Oh, I did buy the single mag carrier, carried it for 3 days, now it is in the box with all the other stuff I don't use, but might someday. I learned I didn't like having something on my left side....maybe I'll try it again on my gun side and see how that works.

I carry a Glock 27.

I got one as a gift; it worked fine, but I was never quite comfortable with the retention I was able to dial in. (I'm used to Kydex and leather holsters that 'snap' when the weapon is inserted or drawn...)

It was very comfortable, though-

Larry

I was looking at an Alien Gear holster iwb as well. The sheer size of this kind of holster was about the only thing I didn't like. And I came across this YouTube video that made me nervous about this particular brand. The poster here who mentioned hotspot will appreciate the video. You can skip to about 7:30 in the video to see the guy cut his finger on The holster because there's no cut out in the Kydex for your finger when you go to grip the gun.

These are great holsters. Put some thread lock on the screws and you're good to go. You get a lot of spare parts, unlimited shell exchanges, great warranty. At $30-$40 why pay more??

I have had mine for about 6 months and it's great. It does look big but you will almost forget you have it on it is so comfortable. Mine is the tuck 3.0

I just posted a review of my new Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.0 holster, and have to say that I just love it!. It is far more comfortable than the hybrid DeSantis or Crossbreed holsters it replaced.

As to the finger cutting issue listed in post #14 above, I have no idea how in the world he is doing that, other than his particular holster was not fashioned correctly. I have drawn from this AG holster in every way that I know how, and I have not even come close to scuffing my skin.

Couldn't a little sand paper solve this issue?

I run a cloaktuck 3.0 for my G19; I also had the previous generation of the cloaktuck as well. The inclusion of the spring metal helps a lot in the new ones. These are the only IWBs I use as they are affordable and relatively comfortable (not as good as stealthgear, but significantly cheaper).

The only thing I have to do is put some blue loctite on the clip screws so they don't loosen up.

Since posting this I tried a holster from N82 Tactical. As good as Aliengear's is, the one from N82 Tactical is even more comfortable as the padding they use is thicker and softer.

I tried them, but can't get comfortable with ANY inside waste band holster. I just listed a like new Aliengear IWB in the classifieds. It felt more comfortable than some I've tried, but IWB just doesn't work for me.

I like mine. It fits well, its comfortable and carries a fairly heavy pistol with relative ease. I will likely buy another.
