I was looking at "grips" for a 1911, when I stumbled upon this video of Shannon Smith, showing how to "Grip" a pistol properly. Funny thing is that I already know this, but haven't been doing it properly because I just don't practice as much in my 69th year on the Planet. Also I shoot mostlly alone, and don't have a friend that would say hey, roll your hand down. So I thought it couldn't hurt to post it, thinking maybe it may help someone else.
It is funny how you forget basics when you just don't do something for a while. It's like a light bulb went off when I realized that I was not locking out my wrist as I used to. And right away my shooting improved. So here it is, hope it benefits someone else.

Thanks for posting that! (Both george burns and JTQ.) In the first video I found out why I tend to shoot slightly left. Now I can correct it.

What works well for him is not always right for others. I don't like the final position of his right thumb and I don not shoot isociles anyway.

Very nice - the right hand thumb seems high on the slide but who am I to dispute a master shooter!
If you held it any lower, it would interfere with the contact between the support hand and the gun. If you gripped lower with the support hand, you'd compromise recoil management
