I agree! I'd love to see something like an H&R in 338 or 300.

A light gauge carbine in 5.7X28. Some handy, iron sight bolt action, maybe 24 to 28" long, 2, maybe 3 pounds, for nature hikes.

A chrome plated Glock 42 MOS with a 6 inch threaded hunting barrel.

CZ in 10 mm with a 6" barrel, and a break open over & under in 20 gauge/.223. Also the Bearcat in 22lr/22mag.

A scaled down M1 Garand clone in 5.56/.223

Or a Savage 99 clone in .223 or 7.62x39

Almost have that in the ruger mini series. Not exact clone but inspired by.

I would probably go for a Ruger mini IF...

1. It took en-bloc clips
2. En-bloc clips in .223 were available.

Why? Just 'cause it is "cool". Ruger is not going to market to me alone though. I don't know ANYONE else who would actually buy a gun like that when detachable mags are available. Maybe a California gun?
