I started a thread like this when the Ethos was first released, but no one had had much experience with them, so I want to try again since some time has passed. I'm considering buying one, but would like to read some reviews from you guys out there who have experience. And if there is a rival shotgun you think is as good or better, please include your thoughts about it. Thanks for your help.

It's basically the same gun as other Benellis, just different dressing. No reson to think it wouldn't work fine.
I'm not concerned that it will malfunction. Reportedly it has upgrades over the 2 Benellis I already own and I had hoped to get feedback from current owners. No luck so far.

I just bought one for my brother-in-law as a "thank you" taking me (and a few other guys) to Hermosillo, Mexico on a three day dove hunt. I plan to present it to him later this month and spend some time breaking it in. I'll certainly let you know how it goes.

Looking forward to your report. I got sidetracked at an auction last week and almost bought a Browning O/U 20, but now aiming at the Ethos again. Appreciate your note. Tom

This is basically true. I just can't get past the (entirely subjective) looks of the "dressing" on the Ethos-I think it's even uglier than the Super Black Eagle.

I've had good luck using a Benelli SBE II "ugly duckling" for waterfowl duties. A very reliable and rugged shotgun.

I’ve shot an Ethos a number of times and sold a few. With the new bolt it is less likely to experience the Benelli Click. It is a very light shotgun and I found recoil to be unpleasant. I’d much rather have a FABARM L4S Silver Hunter - I have a L4S Initial Hunter.

If I were to stay within Benelli I’d much rather have an M2 with Comfortech stock. If I wanted wood I’d get a Montefeltro.

Presented the Ethos to my brother-in-law last Sunday and he absolutely loved it. We were going to go right out and whack some clays, but alas, we were quickly out-voted by the wives. So I'm afraid I don't have the personal experience to share that I'd hoped to have for you. But he has a sporting clays competition coming up a week from today, so I'll get his feedback and at least let you know a second hand point of view. Stay tuned...

My observations. My friend's wife has one in 12 ga. We hunt quail together. She loves the shotgun and is a good shot with it. It is relatively light and recoil is relatively light. It seems to come up quickly and points where aimed. All that has to do with gun fit. She also likes Les Baer 1911s in 38 Super and if you talk to her about either, she will "fling a craving on you" in a heartbeat. I was in the local gun shop last week and a customer told me he had to have an Ethos in 20 ga. since he had one in 12 ga. He really rhapsodized about it. Made me want one just to have it.
