Just looking to get some info on mounting a red dot on my gp100. I'm thinking about grabbing a reflex sight.Im not a fan of the weigand rail , and don't really know if anyone locally that will drill and tap the gun for other mounts (not even sure what's available). The Jpoint mount looks ideal, but not sure what mounting it involves.,anyone have experience with them?

Weigand sells another option besides their rail. Look at their website first. It fits into the rear sight slot.

Jpoint mounts are good to go. Remove the rear sight, use the rear sight screw to mount the jpoint base. Done.

I used a Weigand Weigatinny Mini Scope Mount on a Single Six and found it perfectly acceptable with a Bushnell TRS 25.

I used a Raptor Engineering mount on a 629. I know in that application (N frames) it's the lowest profile mount available, or at least was.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. It came very well packaged, with multiple screws and tools for the Burris Fastfire. Never had an issue.

I ended up making my own mount for my GP100 10 shot .22. I didn't care for the other ones offered and I had some spare time. My mount is polished steel and uses the sight cross pin and the rear sight screw for a stable mount. It also places the dot "assembly" only .060" above the frame for a low mount.

0.06” or 0.6 “? The photos suggest the latter. Unless you mean the bottom of the optic as the dot. If you mean the actual dot you sight on, it just doesn’t look that low. I’m assuming the middle of the lens.

Sorry, I'm referring the "Dot sight assembly" not the actual dot. I tend to call the whole thing as a dot as opposed to a scope or reflex sight.
