That's important for a rimfire silencer, nice but not imperative for a centerfire pistol silencer, and unnecessary (and also comes with several downsides) on a centerfire rifle silencer.

Pretty much every .22 silencer out there is direct-threaded in 1/2 x 28 (the only exception I can think of off the top of my head is the Gemtech G5-22 that's quick-attach and designed to mimic the feel of their G5 rifle silencer). And a centerfire pistol can will be direct-thread unless you're running it on a fixed-barrel carbine and you buy a quick-attach mount like a tri-lug adaptor.

If you're using the Silencer Shop kiosk, keep in mind a few things: First, the dealer sets their Silencer Shop "Powered By" prices, so price could vary depending on the "Powered By" dealer you're selecting. Also, the use of the kiosk is only guaranteed to be free if you're sending the silencer to the dealer where the kiosk is. Otherwise, the dealer might charge a fee for the use of their kiosk.

Also, keep in mind that if you're not using the "Powered By" program that uses the kiosk and you simply order the silencer and have it sent to a dealer, it's treated like a normal Internet transfer and you will have to pay the dealer's transfer fee.

As for the two silencers you've mentioned, I think the Mask is the best heavy-duty .22 silencer on the market. I used to work at a very high-volume NFA dealer, and after testing a bunch, that's that one I picked. My Mask is super quiet and has virtually zero first-round-pop. And I really like the Ghost; I don't have one but it's at or near the top of my list for general-purpose centerfire pistol silencers.

The Griffin Checkmate is a nice QD rimfire can if you’re looking for one of those. You can convert it between QD and direct thread easily as well.

I have a mask and I love it. But after it got stuck on the threads of one of my hosts at the range I bought this https://gemtech.com/22-quick-attach-detach-adapter-for-use-with-rimfire-silencers.html yes, it is expensive and yes it adds a little weight and length, but it is worth every penny. And I'm cheap. I also have 3 hosts, so I do a lot of switching.

if I was buying today I'd buy the mask and the ghost combo deal. since of course they were not running any deals when I bought I bought a mask and a liberty mystic. (I don't really regret that though. the mystic will let me use it on rifle calibers and the core is dippable, which is important to be since I shoot a lot of lead.)
