They shoot ok. I like shooting the revolver just not full throttle all the time. This is a nice midrange load.

Good to know, I ask because I have been using more and more of be86 in my 9mm and unique for mid range 44 loads and be86 is very close to unique in burn speed maybe I can just use be86 for both

I've done limited testing with BE86 in 44mag. I tried plated bullets in my 10" Blackhawk and had decent velocity and accuracy, but I was seeing evidence of plating failure that I believe was related to some rough machining in the forcing cone.

I later tried jacketed 240 jsp bullets, but only in my Desert Eagle. BE86 did not quite have enough to cycle the action in the Desert Eagle. I have never gone back and tried the jacketed bullets in my revolver. I expect good results, though, as BE86 has done well for me in 357mag and is not position sensitive.

I had an interesting experience with BE-86 in the .45 Colt this past weekend, I understand it's not exactly apples to apples, but here goes...

My standard load is 9.5grn Unique under a 255grn cast bullet; it's a known performer and works as well as anything. I loaded 7.8grn BE-86 under the same bullet, based on Alliants data, but the results were a little odd. The report was almost muted, and the recoil impulse was like a mid-range .38SPC... not a 255grn .45 Colt. The really odd thing was the primers exhibited some amount of flatness, particularly compared to the Unique load. They weren't plastered and jagged, but more so than the still rounded contour from the Unique load. I was indoors, so I didn't have my chrono with me... so I have no way of knowing what they were doing.

I'm curious to see if anyone saw anything like this in their big bore (.41, .44, .45) loads with BE-86? I'm still trying to sort BE-86 out... and see if it's going to be as useful as everyone says. It works well in the 9mm, no doubt, and seemed to work well in 200grn .45ACP, but I'm seeing it less and less as a replacement for Unique in other big bore loads.
